Has there ever been a worse idea than David Wallace’s “Suck It” shop-vac for kids? Not according to the United States Military, who paid enough lettuce for the idea to put the disgraced Dunder Mifflin CFO back on the map. By the end of US version of The Office, Wallace was head of his old company once again and thriving. Makes you wonder what would have been had Michael Scott actually joined his former boss for “Suck It” in the season 6 episode “Sabre” and made his millions. For one thing, “Scott’s Tots” would have a much happier ending.
You can’t completely blame Michael for being so shortsighted, though. As David describes it while hanging out with Michael in the hot tub, “Suck It” sounds like a desperate unemployed man’s fever dream of a second coming.
“You know how kids leave their toys everywhere?” David explains in the episode.

When Disney+ raised prices in December by $3 per month to $10.99 — a not-insignificant increase of about 38 percent — the users didn’t blink. (Ad-supported Disney+ launched and took over ad-free’s prior $7.99 price point at the same time.)
According to data from subscription analytics firm Antenna, 94 percent of previous subscribers to ad-free Disney+ service stayed with the product after the price hike, the Wall Street Journal reported. Or, to channel Queen Elsa of Arendelle, almost no one “Let It Go.” That’s an impressive avoidance of churn, or subscribers canceling a service.
That, along with recent comments from CEO-again Bob Iger, suggests Disney+ has room to charge its loyal consumers even more. And why not? Losing 6 percent of customers for a 38 percent increase in Apru (average revenue per user) is just good, solid accounting. It’s one way to speed up the crawl toward profitability by at least a few months.

Disney Plus subscribers may have just spent their weekend working their way through all the new content that arrived on the streaming service last Friday, so let’s look ahead to what’s headed to the site at the end of this week. It’s an even larger haul than the last one, comprising 18 movies and TV shows. There’s a little bit of everything coming this Friday, too, including a ton of National Geographic content, some new stuff for the children and a quartet of major movies – two previously released big hits and two Disney + Originals.
As part of the site’s Summer Movie Nights season, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp lands on Friday. With the addition of this 2018 sequel starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, that leaves just three McU films that are not on D+ – The Incredible Hulk and the two Spider-Man flicks.

In the new pandemic era of streaming entertainment, Disney+ has seemingly built up its own strategy. Every summer month has thus far been highlighted by one major movie and then complemented with the typical Disney content.
For August 2020, the big original movie of the hour is Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe. This will be the second Phineas and Ferb movie and the first to make its premiere via streaming. The film premieres on August 28 and finds the Phineas and Ferb gang back together again as they set out across the galaxy to rescue Candace.
Two other Disney+ originals of note this month are Howard (Aug. 7)and The One and Only Ivan (Aug. 14). Howard is a documentary about Howard Ashman, the unheralded lyricist behind Disney classics like Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. The One and Only Ivan is a film based on the book of the same...
