Sex & Nudity

  • Comments in one episode whether a character is "hot" or a "pervert".
  • Characters are sometimes seen without shirts or pants in a non-sexual context. Very rarely some non human characters are seen completely naked but with no genitalia.
  • Occasional mentions of crushes and dating.
  • In an episode, Ivy kiss Sprig
  • In the first episode there is a two-way joke. Anne talks about the responsibilities of adults. At one point she talks about "rules" (that is, following what is established by society) but right after saying it you see that in a split second Anne looks down. Making a subtle reference to menstruation.

Violence & Gore

  • Episode-specific details have been deleted. Only provide series or season details. Episode specific items should be added to the episode.
  • Some slapstick, comic fantasy violence (like a character made of vegetables being stabbed in the eye in one episode). There is also frequent dark humor related to violent acts and death.
  • There are rare instances where characters punch themselves for comic effect.
  • Some episodes, specially those from season 3 and the season 2 finale, contain more violence than usual, mostly against fantastical creatures like robots.

Profanity

  • Very mild language like "butt" or "heck".
  • The word "frog" is usually used as substitute for profanity ("oh my frog", "we frogging love it", "full of frog spit", "speak of the frog devil" "may frog help you" etc).
  • In Season 3 Episode 12(Segment: Sprivy) Sasha says Good Lord
  • In season 1 episode 15, Anne clearly says "dang" but the subtitles on Disney+ say it as "damn".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is the drug reference of licking frogs used in the episode "wax museum"
  • In Season 3, Episode 3B "Adventures in Catsitting", towards the credits, Anne returns home in a heavy dose of painkillers and medicine after returning from the dentist, causing her to act very loopy.
  • in the episode "A Night at the Inn" it's implied that the toad put something in the cookies causing everyone to sleep.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some scenes where the main characters get attacked by giant insects may be a little frightening for young children.
  • There are some scenes of mild peril such as characters falling from great heights and being chased by enemies.
  • Throughout the series, you can find frog's and toad's skeletal remains.
  • Pretty lighthearted show, but it does have some frightening monsters.
  • Moderate in some episodes.
  • None/Mild in a lot of episodes.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Marcy becomes electrocuted by a very dangerous-looking mind-controlling helmet, causing a blood-curdling scream, followed by her being mind-controlled.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Marcy is stabbed in the last few seconds of season 2 finale with no blood. She is crying and apologized to Anne, one of the protagonists for "everything" and slowly her eyes begin to lose focus as she slowly drops to the ground unconscious.
  • Anne sacrifices herself in the series finale. The deity that brings her back to life makes it clear he copied her from the original Anne, suggesting rather strongly that the original Anne really perished and the resurrected Anne is just a perfect copy indistinguishable from the original.
