I didn't force him to say that

With Thor gone, Darryl gets a new roommate: The Grandmaster.

The final of 3 one shots to be helmed by someone who directed one of the actual films. It's 6 minutes long. Honestly, it would have been criminal not to give Goldblum some more screen time. They get some great material out of him now being on Earth. He continues to behave in the same way as before with this change in context, it's even funnier.

This is currently available on Disney Plus. I recommend it to fans of the franchise. 7/10.

Not as Funny as the Team Thor Shorts
tylerdburns-8132223 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The twenty seventh entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Team Darryl is just a simple funny little short. It's nice seeing Darryl back once again, though I am slightly confused as to how Jeff Goldbergs character gets to Earth following the events of Thor: Ragnarok. The dialogue is funny, and the humor is peak, though it doesn't get as funny as Team Thor: Part One or Two. It is, more or less, just the same thing for a third time. The same type of humor, dialogue, and camera pans and cuts, just not as funny or well done as the previous entries. It just goes to show that too much of a good thing hurts the product.

The formula wears thin
briancham199427 January 2022
Team Darryl is a continuation of the same formula that Taika Waititi used in his Team Thor shorts, What We Do in the Shadows and so on. An otherworldly power is brought down to Earth and flounders around when juxtaposed with an everyday bloke. Get more jokes.

Thunderous THORSDAY
ThunderKing620 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A nice little humour, innocent short of Sakaarian Grandmaster chilling out with his Midgardian friend Darryl.

It was a sweet and short, short of The Elder and Darryl hanging about talking about nothing. It was a wonderful product. As well, it was way better than any RyanDeadpool short. Deadpool tries to be funny. Darryl is funny. Darryl doing nothing was funnier than RyanDeadpool doing too much.

RyanDeadpool writers should take note.

Overall, a great short. It wasn't trying to be anything.

More humiliation for Darryl
Horst_In_Translation29 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
"Team Darryl" is a 6-minute live action short film that elaborates on what happened after the blockbuster movie Thor: Ragnarok and it is a DVD add-on for the latter. Maybe you watched the one where a normal guy named Darryl shares his apartment with Thor himself and as some kind of running gag, he ends up with the Grandmaster this time, played by Jeff Goldblum again of course. Well, it's not a bad watch if you really loved the movie, but Waititi, writer and director here, really makes not much of a statement beyond mediocre comedy I'd say. Goldblum almost carried it to a level where I would recommend it, especially with the one scene where he melts that guy and the Youtube mocking part isn't too shabby eother, but eventually, it's just nothing remotely special and maybe my fanboying for Goldblum is a bit too much here. Overall, I give this one a thumbs-down and the series can end with it for all I care. Only watch if you really love the Marvel films and their comedic approach too. And if you love Goldblum at least as much as I do. Otherwise skip it.
