Spectacular

Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor - is Pakistan's first good animated movie, the best thing about the movie is that it depicts our northern culture along side its beauty very well, the film is full of nice little lessons for kids , good one liners which the kids will understand and remember easily, a bit strong in language at times considering the very young audience, but it is ignorable. A simple story which kids will love specially the ones who love animals and like stories related to them ,good music specially that "teri zindagi mai" classic track being re-done with a new voice and spectacular animation. Good, enjoyable and colorfull experience. A very good try and big well done to the whole team.

One of the Best CG animated films from Pakistan, but not the greatest
www-afzala115 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I've recently watched the full film on ARY and it was surprisingly good, it's set in khyber although I can understand 30% Urdu, I can get each character's goal and motives which are kept simple such as: Heroes: Allahyar - main protagonist, wants revenge on Mani for killing his father, helps Markhor to get back home. Markhor - other protagonist, wants to get back home and eventually became Allahyar's best friend Hero - comic relief character, a chuckar bird that has a crush on Markhor, tags along with the gang because not only he knows the way to the place they're looking for but also wants to impress her also. Btw he's probably my fave character in the film. Chakku - A young snow leopard who comes in the latter half of the film, he comes to not only rescue the gang but also wants to get revenge on the antagonist for killing his parents (kinda relatable backstory for the protagonist).

Villains: Mani - The Main Antagonist, don't know whether I consider him a badass or a jackass since there are scenes where he does cool parkour moves across the forrest and beats up a bunch of fully grown wolves without getting hurt (in real life he would be dead less than a minute) and scenes such as rubbing his foot and smelling it or literally eating sh!t. The point of him being in this film show that anyone is desperate for money, even showing no mercy to humans let alone animals and sometime as human being can make cruel decisions. Bubloo - The Antagonist's sidekick, I'd say is neutral from the beginning as he's only doing his job (like having a better pay than his usual job at the store) and later finds out the cruelty of the main villain's plan. What I like about the inclusion of the sidekick is that he's not just some cliche lackey with no personality who does what the villain tells him to do in some other films, Babloo is a character who has heart and decides what's wrong and what's right for himself. Wolves - Nothing much to say about them other than being side filler villains since they looked hungry lol.

Although the film was considerably short, it had a solid storyline, great animation, great cinematography, good music, acting and pretty much everything that makes it professional, my only complaint is that Allahyar (the protagonist) was easily forgettable because of course the markhor steals the spotlight and also a plot hole were the ending shows Allahyar's father found his son, while being alive it doesn't explain how he was knocked out (unless I missed something or Allahyar forgot to check his pulse).

Overall I enjoyed the symbolism of the film's characters (representing national animals) and getting it's message across (being that the animals are in danger because of poachers), as much as I like this film, I doubt it would get a sequel (unless the villain escapes or bailed out of prison to join another group for a spin-off film lol).

Is it the greatest CG animated film? No, I've seen better

Is it Pakistan's best CG film ever? Definitely, seeing it has a solid approach in filmmaking and a step in the right direction as young generation is better than old generation.

Must watch, especially being almost the same league as Shrek, The Incredibles, Kung Fu Panda etc.

Our Legend of the Wild.
aurangzab200520 June 2020
Allahyar and the legend of Markhor fulfills many scenarios including being cordial and sympathetic to all other creatures, loving your enviroment and surroundings, creating relationships with wildlife and be loyal to it. I guess this is the first time ever we made something that has a cultural and social amplification regarding wildlife and nature in 3D manner to reach and teach the new generation; the importance of hidden gems, our nature.

The movie is about a kid Allahyar, who is mischievous but a kind kid, with stories of being a protector of the nature in mind, embarks on a journey of life, friendship and destiny.

The vocal artist have done a marvellous job; Anum zaidi, Natasha, Abdul Nabi; they all have outdone there roll by performing astonishingly. The comedy punches by Azfar Jafri as Hero, were the best thing i must say. The movie shows combine efforts of Zaheer khan and the studio artists and graphis designers, who have made a mark in pakistani animation genre.

The beauty that they showen of our northern side, was literally mesmerizing, the views, the landscapes and greenary in terrain was breathtaking, simply loved it.

Several aspects of the movie are well established and tuned while others required more work. I believe they should have used reality synthesizer tech in order make the animated human characters more real and lifelike. The characters needed more refining and development.

But in the end its worth a shot movie for you and your kids. The movie depicts our cultural and social values in a 3D manner, kindly watch it and show it to your kids.

Previously 3 Bahadur and now this, i must say our industry is rising from the ashes, please watch and support.

WATCH AT UR OWN RISK

Warning: Spoilers
Its good to see that Pakistani directors are making animated films. Its really good to see. But I think Allahyar and Legend of Markhor is forgettable movie. The plot of movie is cliched and predictable. Studio should made a more colorful, bright and imaginative plot. Character of Allahyar was underdeveloped. It needed more characterization. The wrost thing about this movie was that voice of main male lead is given by a female!!! Wtf Two days ago, i was watching The princess and The Frog movie and i came to know that the main female lead of movie was leftie, just because the voice artist was leftie in her real life!!! I mean, the studio was so sensitive about movie's cast and characters. The plot of this movie has too many holes and its boring, as it was clearly shown that Allahyaar's father was dead;but latter it was shown alive. The snow leopard was still alive after a shot in its cheast. My younger little brother was watching this movie with me but she left movie after some time and when i asked her reason and she said that what the trash i was watching. Animation was just tickety-boo. One thing I liked about movie was that its conveys message about preservation and condemns illegal hunting of wildlife. Overall, the movie doesn't deserve a watch. WATCH AT UR OWN RISK!!!

Why it has 7.7 rating on imdb.
shevikwombat14 October 2021
If it wasn't for plot this movie is no good.

Bad hair simulation, bad grass simulation, cloth simulation is like the fight scene from Matix 2, and physics doesn't even apply in this movie.

I dont like the CGI.

Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor will leave you mesmerised
shirjil14 February 2018
The much anticipated Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor released on February 2 nationwide. Directed and written by Uzair Zaheer Khan, the movie is set on a journey of a young boy who embarks on a quest with a squad of endangered animals in Pakistan.

Produced by the 3rd World Studios, the story revolves around a nature-loving young school boy Allahyar, voiced by Anum Zaidi, who embarks on a journey and helps a markhor named Mehru (Natasha Humera Ejaz) reach home, while running away from an eccentric poacher and a hunter, Mani (Ali Noor) and his sidekick Uncle Bablu (Arieb Azhar).

The team behind this film deserves applause for picturing the scenic beauty of northern Pakistan with some remarkable connections to a small city life including local shops, houses and the like. With a spectacular visual quality, viewers feel connected to the animated characters through relatable facial expressions depicting their emotions.

Besides Allahyar, who is the main character of the story, animators have marvelously built the story around other prominent animals characters that include Pakistan's national bird, national animal along with endangered species.

Besides all the amazing animation, the film also did not fail to deliver some short yet amazing musical pieces. The most captivating score was Zohaib Hasan's famous 1982 track 'Muskuraye Ja' sung by Natasha Humera Ejaz. Coupled with beautiful animation, the song was perfect.

This film is one that needs not to be missed at all. Allahyar and Markhor is not just for the children but also for adults. It would stir you into action, and would make you begin to care more not just about the nature, but also endangered animals.

It was obvious why it will remain one of the most memorable stories for children for many years. This film has already set high standards in a country where the industry for feature-length animations is still evolving.

Here's hoping the entire team of Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor comes up with more adventurous animations.

Literally the best Pakistani animated movie!
usamaijazuse25 December 2022
Allah Yar and the Legend of Markhor is one of the top animated movies I have ever seen!

The way producers portray Pakistan in this film is exceptional. Markhor (Pakistan's national animal), Chukar (Pakistan's national bird) are the best examples!

And of course the special Pakistani design on the trucks is the best part of the movie.

Dude, if you are looking for an animated movie with a great story, then go for this movie.

Even if you are not a Pakistani, still you can watch this movie for a great story and you will get to know more about Pakistan.

In the end, the producers did a great job and the animators nailed it!
