WWE Fastlane: Exactly what you'd expect
Being the last stop on the road to Wrestlemania we knew that Fastlane was not going to be full of surprises. How possibly could it? Wrestlemania is already booked, nothing was likely to change.
With very few matches and paint by numbers action this felt like such an immensely second rate ppv that was just tiding things over until Mania.
The completely pointless kickoff match, the totally filler womens tag match, the dumb US match, the poorly booked Rusev/Nakamura affair, the offensively predictable womens title bout and the weirdly rushed main event.
The ppv did few people any favours at all and in some cases were quite damaging. It's not that I don't agree with the outcomes, the matches just felt so pointless and so predictable this close to the "Showcase of the immortals"
Mania at time of writing is set to be underwhelming with one decent match on the card that will pale by comparison to the NJPW version.
Roll on Mania, nothing to see here.
The Good:
Few interesting spots here and there
Ruby Riott
The Bad:
Some weird booking calls
Rushed main event
Far too predictable
Things I Learnt From This PPV:
I'm so glad they specified that Nakamura had won the mens royal rumble or I might have mistakenly thought he won the womens
Force turning a stupidly over face is perfectly logical because reasons
