Pretty intriguing but could have been shorter

Warning: Spoilers
There are a lot of cool concepts introduced over many episodes but at some point you feel like they could have done the whole series in 10, maybe even 8 episodes. I still very much enjoyed it, though there is not a lot of action. In case it's not clear from synopsis or trailers, the entire episode runs centers around one "trip" to stasis, it's not like "multiple adventures" as you'd maybe expect with other anime.

As for the review that mentions we never see the 2nd girl from the last episode, this is wrong, she appears before the start credit in the very first scene of the first episode! So it's not so much "out of the blue", though they do take their time to reintroduce her...

Time Stop but still running
puneetsharma910 August 2018
When youngest one in the family was in danger. And Elder I mean the grandfather of main character have to show his family Artifact which running in their family from long time.

This Artifact has power to stop time but when they use this artifact they are trapped in this world someone plan something else for them. Anime series is good . There are little bit action on some episodes but some are like blank I mean no action. Most like because of it is family based movie the family can do certain thing . But elder never told about their so power of most them this is first experience of new world. And also on relation with the family is most part of story. It good to watch one time as just about 240 min series.

I think the ending can be heavy enough with some special in it but it look flat somehow.

But everyone taste may be vary. But my expectation from erased may be totally skyrocket so that can be blame for that.

Oddball Time Travel Story
k-gordo1721 May 2023
A mixed bag show that ultimately earns a high recommendation from me based on it being so odd ball and different.

It's very difficult to think of a comparison to this show. Its got a unique premise with interesting character dynamics and outlandish concepts.

It goes full steam ahead into the crazy, combining a time travel-like story with supernatural elements, and doesn't slow down on its pacing. It's also very rare you have a bad ass female lead in a mature story line which also made this show a breath of fresh air. Characters enter and exit the show very unpredictably and adds to the chaos.

The anime is nearly a shot for shot recreation of the manga, however the one thing the anime lacks is the zany art style used by the manga. A lot character expressions and actions look out of place in the anime but its mostly because they weren't depicted with the over the top facial expressions and drawings that complemented those scenes in the manga. The anime tried to make a more streamlined art style, but when you introduce these crazy moments, it looks awkward sometimes. The studio shouldn't have tried to meet it halfway.

Bottom line, if you are looking for something different and obscure, check this one out.

Good concept but you get bored in the middle
The-Last-Sith-Lord15 May 2022
Just found it on netflix the first episode and the concept of the plot were pretty good, but you start getting tired after some episodes, mostly because the characters are kind annoying (the fight between them and the dialogues are really tiring) and after 3 eps you start having the feeling that you are getting nowhere in the story. It's not a bad anime, good to watch over the weekend if you don't have anything else in mind, but it isn't the kind of show that will make you watch for a second time.

surprise gem!

Interesting and engaging story. This is definitely not intended for kids due to certain adult themes.

Numerous twists and turns, kept me interested throughout. In fact, I binge watched it in one day.

Unexpected Depths: A Slow-Burn Anime Masterpiece
henriquecsj17 March 2024
"Kokkoku: Moment by Moment" is an intriguing anime that deftly balances a slow-burn narrative with complex character development, setting itself apart from the mainstream. Initially watched on a whim on Amazon Prime Video, it quickly captivated me with its rich storytelling and humanized portrayals. The plot intricately weaves through the concept of time manipulation, exploring the profound impacts on family dynamics and individual choices. Despite its methodical pacing, each episode methodically lays the groundwork for a thoroughly satisfying climax. Surprisingly underrated, "Kokkoku" deserves acclaim for its mature themes and engrossing storyline.

If you like "seinen" sci-fi.
gimailito7 November 2018
I did not like it that much, it seemed more interesting in paper. While seeing I had the feeling that I was loosing other awesome series and I had to do a little effort to get to the sixth episode where I definitely stopped watching.

My recommendations instead of that one or if you liked that one are Dorei-ku The Animation (2018) or Boku dake ga inai machi (2016).

pretty good

The characters are not flat caricatures of tropes, the plot is rather intriguing albeit a much weaker third act, visually it is not great nor terrible and the intro is a banger. Approved.
