Couldn't Be Less Original

We've seen this before...many, many times. What was it called? My best friend's pasty-white runaway Opie-looking bride? Something like that. The dialogue seemed to have been entirely ad-libbed with zinger lines like "This is a messed-up situation" and "I'm carpe dieming." Someone really said that.

Even the guy's house was insipid. It looked like a cheap motel room that they rented by the hour. And I realize this is a low-budget affair, but buy a few lights next time. The entire movie was shot in his dumpy hotel room, at night, in the dark.

The only thing they got right about this is that it wasn't very long, but deeply boring people talking for 82 minutes is an eternity that I couldn't endure. I had to fast-forward through the trailer on YouTube, no kidding.

Once again, this movie page has been bombed by people who have only written a single review.

Save yourself the time and stare at a wall!

I've NEVER seen a film where I hated every character. Except Rachel, she started strong and then had her balls cut off. Speaking of which, the two "guys" have NONE! I literally, term used correctly, wanted to see them all doused with gasoline and set on fire. THAT'S how much each character sucked. I kept hoping it'd turn into a horror flick. I had no problem with the ending, but you can't feel bad for anyone when you want to slap the sh#t out of them. Steer clear of watching this dumpster fire from Uranus. And you're thinking, at least there's Rachel. Nope. The polar vortex that is the suckatude of all the characters eventually brings her down as well. It was like in Freaks. Gooble Gobble, One of us, One of us. Once she joined, it was a downward spiral. I took 3 days after watching it to write this. And I still can't stop hating those characters. I mean, I REALLY hate them all. Except early Rachel.

Torturous & vain. Miss it and save yourself Movie underscores at all levels. Poor writing (characters seem like chatterboxes).. screenplay is below par. Actors look horrendously funny and immature (totally against the plot)

Annoying Garbage!!

I like to give all films a go but this is just frustrating annoying garbage.. I felt so angry I turned it off! BAD acting and terrible storyline!! Was a bit like watching a bunch of students make a film for a school project!

So Wet I Was Drenched After 5 Minutes

One of the wettest films I've ever seen. From the actors/acting & everything else - just wet. This is the parboiled result of middle class university educated millennials who are scared of their own shadows. Wet! Wet! Wet! With no sweet little mystery insight.

If this film was a tweet it would be second-hand outraged. If this film was surface cleaner it would be watered down lemon.

If I come across as being annoyed in this review, that's because I am. I wasted time on this dropped bowl of watery porridge.

More fake reviews than usual for this one

This movie is insufferable. It should never have been filmed as a full-length feature until they were able to put together a deserving script. This is a bunch of whiny, entitled caricatures talking in circles because the plot calls for them to be indecisive. The actors have to agonize over how to resolve a situation that would take anyone else about 10 seconds to fix. The stakes could not be lower, and these people could not be more unlikable. Avoid.

Excellent performances

The performances in this movie are quite good. Every actor brings something real. Melissa Recalde deserves special mention for a very sharp sense of comic timing, very funny. Peter Berube is also hilarious, playing a bumbling but lovable doofus. Brandon McShane is the emotional center of the film and does a great job of conveying Ben's indecision and turmoil. This was a fun watch.

In this case Ben character portrait the snob not just snob but real time snob.

Hilarious with a dose of reality

For situational comedy this movie hit it out of the park! Each if the characters were cooky and delightful. Who doesn't know and love the Rachel friend who you know you should listen to, but just don't? Or the Maria friend that you can take into the most awkward circumstances and they feel right at home? Crazy ex? Slow-on-the-uptake brother? Check! Check! Check! I could totally relate to Ben's character and his unwillingness to hurt anyone, which ultimately ended up with him hurting himself. But my favorite of all? Lisa. She's the anti-bridezilla. She is the perfect example of a grounded, collected woman, and one of a million reasons to watch this movie. Ultimately I gave it 9 out of 10 because I'm a sucker for a happy ending, and this one is a little more realistic than fairy-tale.

A must see!

I laughed, I cried and was thoroughly entertained! A talented cast. All performances were top notch and each character took you on a ride! What a great ensemble. A must see!

Fun Independent Film

Remember, this is a low budget Indy film. If you watch this film with that in mind, it's a very enjoyable movie. If you think you're going to see Sex in the City or 50 First Dates, you'll be disappointed.

Indie Film with Heart

If you're looking for an expensive Hollywood rom com with plastic characters, this is not that! This is a heartwarming Indie comedy with interesting and flawed characters played by talented, up and coming actors. You may start out rooting for one character and then have your mind changed as the film goes on. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you may even shout at your TV!

Excellent, smart, funny, sad, happy story!

This is a smart film on many levels, from the complicated way the audience is masterfully guided to feel about the protagonist and his arc, to the seemingly out-of-the-loop character everyone cheers for, cries for and falls in love with by the end of this emotional roller coaster - who personally resonated deeply with me. Every character is well developed and each has a unique voice and integral role in the story. I was very satisfied with the resolution. I'm inspired by the storytelling and the story itself on a personal level. It's a real, funny, sad, happy story that doesn't miss a beat. Keep making films please! We need more stories like this.

This is an exceptionally well-done independent film. The acting is excellent all around and it is well-staged and shot. I was drawn into the story and became an invested virtual participant. As a result, I was deeply moved by what happened. There was no part of the movie where my attention wandered. I especially liked the actor portraying Ben, who was very natural and deftly demonstrated a wide range and arc of emotions, which were very moving.

Delightful Film

We Are Gathered Here exceeded my expectations. The cast was delightful, dialogue smart and witty, plot fast-paced. Especially enjoyed Bobby. We all know a Bobby. Friendships make life worth living, and this value is seen in this enjoyable film!

Good acting, hilarious and easy to follow. This was totally my type of movie! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film with a group of friends. Bobby and Rachel were my favorites!

Funny and Well Done

I really enjoyed watching this film -it's well produced, directed and the actors are impeccable. I may have wanted to throw tomatoes at Jules (and Ben for being ridiculously slow and indecisive) - but that is what made it a funny story and kept me watching. Seriously hoping for a Bobby and Ben spin-off and series.

What a fantastic piece of art. It's well executed, funny, fast-paced... and all of this without dismissing the pain and truth of dealing with past and present love. It has a perfectly cast ensemble in a story with constantly escalating stakes. Don't miss it!

I am just not a fan of this type of single location argument film. This kind of film should have just finished by one of them walking out of the room. Instead, everyone just stays and argues, making the situation worse. It is a story out of nothing.
