I wish it was longer

And that's the only negative thing about it. It's a insight into these mens lives and how they got to where they are at now. I would really have loved even more in depth stories, but maybe that's too much to ask of them, too private. I wish they would show these to some young people.

A lot of talking

A lot of talking, everybody says the same, no depth... rather boring...

Excellent

As someone who spent their careeer working in children's mental health, this documentary rightly stresses what we have said for years- " it is easier to build up a child, than to repair an adult". Thank you for this gift of an eye into these men's lives.

The meaning is clear. The attitude - didn't change.
SilverOrlov14 July 2021
The whole essence of the film can be conveyed in two theses: 1) Not all criminals are completely guilty of their crimes. From time to time they grow up like this because of their environment, poor upbringing or attitude towards them ... BUT! ... how many of these children grow up to be normal too? Maximum unsociable maybe, but not stealing/raping/killing. If they wanted to change, they would. The rest are only excuses.

2) This guy loved his foster family, but continued to steal from them. Conscience tormented, made sad eyes ... BUT! ... continued to steal. Therefore, when he began to cry, telling me that he spent almost all his life in prison, he did not really touch me or caused regret.

.. I understand the essence of the film, I understand that people and destinies are different ... I agree that the film does its job, makes us understand what they wanted to say with this film. But that's all. This thief will give an interview, cry on camera with real tears, yes, but after he get out of a jail, what he will do next? ...He will go and steal and sit down again. Why should I sympathize with him if he himself does not want to change? Instead of stealing money from family to say "what the hell, we love each other, I was given a chance." For this ... NO.

Captivating

I don't usually write reviews but this documentary was fantastic and needs to be shown to a bigger audience. I really didn't know what to expect; I watch a lot of similar shows about prisons and life inside but this is unlike any others out there. Of course they've had a long time to reflect on their crimes and life prior so the insight was compelling. I loved seeing their creativity and they way they collaborated together. They make it known in the beginning their intent to make this film is not to get sympathy. I truly believe getting this out there to more people could help other young people identify their current situation and encourage them to get help before they make that decision that could change the rest of their lives. Even adults who already have their minds made up about inmates, what they see them to be like, to offer them a new perspective as well.

I loved every minute, definitely watch this film!

Absolutely captivating! Enjoyed every single second of it! I highly recommend it for everyone, specially for teenagers and young adults. It surely can be life changing for many people. Best thing about it, its all REAL. Makes you think a lot about your life and the decisions you make and will make. Excellent work. Definitely 10/10. A true gem.

Hard not to be moved

First review here but like others have said, this is definitely worth looking at. A different perspective on these types of things is always nice and all, but the message that each person sends is special and has a long-lasting effect. There are some documentaries where afterwards you're left contemplating life; this one makes you realise these people have not only been doing that for years, but will most likely continue doing so for decades more, all the while we have the freedom to make our own choices. Yeah, it hits that hard.
