It's a good chance of pace to have Cameron Monaghan back in the fold. His involvement with several favourite series villains puts a real good twist on the whole "turning the city mad" plan. It would as though the show is also taking Dr. Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) and Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) on a romantic side-story, that while a little out of place could add some flair to Lee's and Jim's (Ben Mckenzie) ongoing reunion. There really is not much to say about "Mandatory Brunch Meeting" other then it being a stellar set up for a villainous undertaking.

Riddles and Romance
Dan1863Sickles3 January 2023
I have very little use for minor villains like Tetch and Crane, (he of the Weird Harold head cover and the random fear gas.) But it was enormously exciting to see the way romance shapes the riddle game between the Riddler and Lee Tompkins. There are so few story lines where the villain is allowed to get the girl. And the Riddler is one of my favorites!
Other than that, this episode was only average. I was not especially impressed by the idea of the Joker having a nice twin. But I did like Echo, the nice twin's girl assistant. Especially when she was kicking fat cop Harvey Bullock right in the teeth!
