A really lovely episode of the show, with Phil's trip to hospital bringing the family together in his time of need.

It was also nice to see Fred Savage of 'Wonder Years' fame (who also directs some episodes of the show) appear in a funny guest turn too.

Great stuff.

Brilliant, poignant story; Modern Family in a nutshell.

Dear Beloved Family is the show's 200th episode and perfectly encapsulates the series. This hilarious, heart-warming, episode examines the family's relationships with each other.

Revolving around Phil's gallbladder surgery, this episode tackles the themes around death and what it means for those loved ones left behind. It derives comedy and serious moments from death.

The climax of the episode is an incredibly heart-warming note that reminds us to appreciate every minute we are alive.

Emphasising on the importance of family, Dear Beloved Family is another classic episode that truly cements Modern Family as one of the most beloved shows in history.

All of Modern Family is a 10 out of 10 for me. Even when it is not LOL funny it is still engaging. But in this episode Michael charven who is playing Superman delivers his line in such a way it is perfection. Hysterical!

There have been worse episodes of modern family.

That's a compliment, right?

The episode starts off with Gloria's absolutely amazingly annoying voice...and screams...and up and down chortles.

Then it meanders with nothing really.

The only funny stuff is with mitch and cam and fred savage....but even that cant make this episode any better.

Weak story line with joe and then manny.

I mean hey...if you're gonna phone it in, by all means, lean into it and REALLY phone it in.

A 7.4 imdb rating? Yeah....no.

This episode wasnt unwatchable...but surely no reason to ever watch it again....as most later seasons of MF are.

This was another episode I don't think I ever saw bc I had stopped watching this show at this point.
