Summer Sausage, a Pocket Poncho, and Tony Danza
studioAT15 April 2023
This is another nice episode of the show, and it's very positive to see that while of course the younger version of Sheldon Cooper is the focus, the other characters have by this stage been well drawn out enough that they can not only handle being given their own storylines, but they can also carry the episode/series in turn, forward.

This is very much a testament to the creative team behind the scenes, who know that for any spin-off/sequel series to work, we as the audience need something more to invest in than the character we knew already. What a shame the 'Joey' spin-off didn't do this.

Overall, a nice outing.

Dinners Together
claudio_carvalho13 July 2023
Sheldon invites Dr. John Sturgis to have dinner with his family but does not tell Mary. Meemaw explains him later that two people need to be alone to know each other and Sheldon calls Dr. Sturgis to tell him. The scientist invites Connie to have dinner with him at her place, but he will cook her Sichuan Chinese cuisine. Meanwhile, Mary convinces George to stay more time with Missy and she asks to have dinner with him at The Red Lobster. Mary has dinner with Georgie at home and he asks embarrassing questions about his birth to her.

"Summer Sausage, a Pocket Poncho, and Tony Danza" is the funny last but one episode of the First Season of "Young Sheldon". The boy trying to force Meemaw to be together with Dr. John Sturgis is hilarious. Missy going to The Red Lobster with George is also very sweet and amusing. Her decision to eat lobster everyday and how she will achieve it is one of the funniest parts of the show. Georgie questioning the day of his conception to Mary versus the day of her marriage steals the show. My vote is eight.

? About theme song
loh-551567 May 2018
This isn't a review but a ? regarding the theme song that was used to promo this episode. The song belonged to the theme of an older tv show & can't quite place it.

Mom Diverts Dad's attention from the boys....

To the daughter, and their night out at Red Lobster or wherever was a relaxed and abnormally comforting sight, vis-a-vis the usual hyperbolic crap typical of today's TV sitcoms....

Is that Wolowitz?

When George and Missy are in the Red Lobster, immediately behind them at another table is a man who is the spitting image of Howard Wolowitz. Was this a cameo?
