A haunting song that got a quite climatic music video even though not much happens through its few minutes. Echo & The Bunnymen's "The Killing Moon"
presents Ian McCulloch performing the song up against a dark background where sometimes the image of a harvest moon appears from time to time. The three other
band mates appear very briefly during the solo part.
There isn't much to be said about this clip, it's more of an experience that must be seen and felt rather than having me describing each frame or to compose a wide view of what I actually think about it - truth is I don't have much of a poetic take on it or some deep thought about it except that I adore the melancholic sounds from the music which always makes me remember of the amazing "Donnie Darko". In fact, had it been a collage of images from that movie then we'd have a better video but Echo trusted their instincts as selling this as a power ballad way back in 1984 and the rest is history, one of their greatest moments of all time - even though not actually one of my favorite songs of theirs.
Still a highly recommendable moment for those who like the band and those who are about to know them. The cinematography is incredible in its darkness and very few points of lights and the camera really loves McCulloch's sad beautiful face. 8/10.
