After watching this movie, instead of scratching my head, I started scratching my balls.
sriramch-8346712 September 2018
Reasons to watch this movie: None.

Reasons to NOT watch this movie: Mohan Babu's Over-Action, Too much Mohan Babu (it feels like a movie to just boost his idiotic ego), Vishnu (seriously, when will he learn how to act?), horrible direction (every other minute, there's some stupid thing happening, which is absolutely unbelievable/unnecessary), horrible dialogues (actually, the film just had Mohan Babu's monologues. His hunger for screen space is extremely evident), etc. There are too many reasons that I won't list, because it's just a waste of time.

Honestly speaking, I just watched about the first 36 minutes, and I couldn't go on. I still watched it for 36 minutes, because I wanted to keep my mind open, and try and think that there's at least one frame in the movie which might be decent. But no, there wasn't even a single frame in the movie which was decent. Hats off to the director to make such a horrendous movie.

My humble message to Manchu family (except Manchu Manoj): Learn how to ACT, first. Start reading good scripts/stories. Be professional in your approach to movie making. Don't make fun of your own family, stop the self-praising, instead, let others see your work and then let them appreciate your work. If your work is truly a genuine masterpiece, you will be appreciated for the work.

In the end, I just want to say this -- "Don't watch this movie. Period."

Waste of time
sowmyapathsamatla29 August 2021
I dared to watch the total 130 min of this movie and decided write my first review here. It is produced by Mohan babu to boast Mohan babu directed and written by Mohan babu. It seems the director may be a mere puppet just to put a screen name. Waste of 130 min time in my life. I wonder why they take such films.

On the whole, "Gayatri" is strictly New-style sentiment movie
"Mohan Babu plays Dasari Sivaji who runs an orphanage named after his late wife Sarada (Shriya Saran). He is also a stage artiste and master of disguise, a talent with which he serves time prison in place of high-profile criminals and returns to normal life once out on bail. Kind-hearted he also funds orphanages. He wants to find his daughter Gayatri (Nikhila Patel) who he lost 25 years ago. After a few twists and turns Sivaji finds his daughter and is about to meet her when a cruel Gayatri Patel (also played by Mohan Babu) enters the scene and asks Sivaji to replace him in prison, else he will destroy the orphanage and the kids and his daughter. Actually, Gayatri Patel sentenced to death, but Sivaji does not know this and agrees to go to prison.

Gayatri Movie is a New-style sentiment movie.

"The story is also laced with family emotions - father and daughter sentiment scenes - to appeal to the core fan base of Mohan Babu.

The second half straight away begins with the flashback episode in which Vishnu and Shirya's romance is established, their romantic thread is of marvellous style. The movie really comes to the point in the last 45 minutes of the movie. The twist is here also quite interesting.

From comedy to narration, the movie is packaged in good style.the film would have become a decent entertainer.

Mohan Babu delivers a few hard hitting dialogues on current political scenario that are effective. He made satires on "land pooling" of AP government, and on "B.Com Lo Physics" comment of a TDP MLA and also criticised AP CM Naidu's recent Nandyala by-poll campaigning.

On the whole, "Gayatri" is strictly New-style sentiment movie."

Mohan Babu's performance in the dual role is one of the highlights in the movie. Vishnu Manchu's Performance marvelous
Sivaji (Mohan Babu) is searching for his missing daughter. He runs an orphanage and also steps into the jail to stay for few days in the place of convicted rich criminals. As he is a stage actor who can easily slip into the get up of any person, he takes up this work for some quick big bucks. When luck brings him to be in touch with his daughter Shruti (Nikhila Vimal), he gets kidnapped by a criminal politician Gayatri Patel (Mohan Babu) demanding to act like him for 14 days in prison. What happens next, why has Gayatri Patel has chosen Sivaji? For a seasoned actor like Mohan Babu who had done more than 550 movies, the story of a human chameleon who slips into body double of any person is an apt one. A dream role for any actor certainly. To showcase versatility!

The film has some politically loaded dialogues here and there. Mohan Babu takes potshots at AP government and the current politicians.

The combination of Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu is a successful one as they have delivered hits together.Stunts in this film really deserve a special mention. Mohan babu and Vishnu Manchu exhibited tremendous energy in action sequences.

Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu massive acted in the movie
Mohan Babu proves his calibre as a veteran of numerous films, and brings considerable variation between his two roles with multiple shades, and excels both as the evil antagonist and the do-gooder. Shriya Saran in a short and emotionally impacting role, makes her presence felt with the adequate emotional quotient. Nikhila Vimal is impressive as the girl in distress and delivers a fine performance.

Manchu Vishnu and Anasuya did good performances. Manchu Vishnu with Brahmanandam comedy hilarious. Manchu Vishnu again his proved with his comedy and sentiment scenes in the movie.

High Lights:

Mohan Babu's Movie -Gayatri
anjanikumarinandamuri26 June 2018
"Mohan Babu, who has acted is some 550 films in his long career, is making a comeback with the film Gayatri. He plays a dual role, which he played many years back. The film is directed by Madan Ramineni of Pellaina Kothalo fame. The flashback episode with Vishnu Manchu and Shriya Saran comes out well. Mohan Babu is better as the villain Gayatri Patel. The satirical dialogues on political leaders are hilarious.

Vishnu Manchu, who plays the younger Mohan Babu, performs well. Shriya Saran pairs with Vishnu in the flashback and she does so gracefully. Anasuya plays a journalist and a new girl Nikhila Vimala play Gayatri.

In the film the choice is yours, as Mohan Babu says in one of his dialogues."

Gayatri thrives on high voltage performance of Mohan Babu & Vishnu Manchu
Dasari Sivaji(Mohan Babu) loses track of his daughter Gayathri(Nikhila Vimal) right after her birth. He puts in constant efforts to find out the well-being of his child but fails many a time. As time passes by, Gayatri develops hatred towards her father for not being with her in difficult times. After a point, she comes to know the actual story and finds out that her father is not the one to be blamed. Finally, Sivaji meets his daughter and just when everything seems to be going well, Gayatri Patel(Mohan Babu) enters the scene and pushes the family neck-deep into problems. Rest of the story is as to how Sivaji comes out of this tricky situation and saves his daughter.

Gayatri thrives on high voltage performance of Mohan Babu & Vishnu Manchu. The legendary actor is too good at portraying various emotions and this takes the movie to a whole new level. The variations that the senior actor shows while essaying two completely different roles is quite commendable. The movie runs on good family emotions as the lead cast does a decent job in making the film look more appealing.

Manchu Vishnu impresses with his ease in acting and fluent dialogue delivery. He performs to the best of his capabilities and brings a lot of depth to the film. All his combination scenes with Brahmanandam evokes decent laughs. Shreya does well within her limitations and supports Vishnu nicely. Comedians Ali and Prudhvi played their parts well.

There's no one like Mohan Babu when he plays another version of his onscreen persona
"Mohan Babu playing a stage artiste, who's also a master of disguise. As a result, we have reel after reel of 'substantial proof' that there's no one like Mohan Babu when he plays another version of his onscreen persona. Call it indulgence or a solid attempt to re-introduce the legend of Mohan Babu to a new generation, his presence in the film is so overwhelming that the plot itself gets a secondary treatment.

So, what is the plot? This is the story about Shivaji (Mohan Babu), a middle-aged man, who is a stage artiste by profession. On the other hand, he goes out of his way to fund orphanages across the country. Why? Because he believes that it might help him to meet his long-lost daughter. But fate has other plans, and after several twists and turns, he's forced to make a difficult choice when he meets Gayatri Patel (also played by Mohan Babu).

High Lights: Background Score and Songs Story Mohan babu and Vishnu Manchu Screenplay Direction

The combination of Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu is also a hit combo. When they all teamed up for ""Gayatri"", it reached expectations."

Gayatri is a Good Message oriented Movie with terrific performances by Mohan Babu and Vishnu
Gayatri is a Good Message oriented Movie with terrific performances by Mohan Babu and Vishnu. There's a dialogue in the film where supporting characters warn others while referring to Mohan Babu's character and it goes something like this - "Let him stay on page 1. If he goes to page 2, his original character will come out and you never know what might happen." The film gets a tad more interesting when a backstory involving Vishnu Manchu and Shriya Saran is revealed. The combination of Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu is also a hit combo. When they all teamed up for ""Gayatri"", it reached expectations. The climax itself is wonderfully set-up, it's resolved in such a marvellous manner .

Outstanding performances by Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu
anushashashank13 November 2018
"Mohan Babu has played dual role - one as a good Samaritan and the other as a criminal. The veteran actor is excellent in both the roles. The main highlight of the movie is performances of Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu. The variation in expressions and different style of dialogue delivery to different roles shows his command on acting.

Vishnu has played the role of younger version of Mohan Babu's Sivaji character with ease.

Shriya appears in a brief role which reminds us of her "Manam" role. Nikhil Vimal as Mohan Babu's daughter is okay. In other roles, Siva Prasad and Anasuya are noticeable. The story of "Gayatri" has enough scope for a veteran actor like Mohan Babu to showcase his versatility. It seems the script is prepared to show the senior actor's acting prowess once again. His high voltage performance is mainstay of the movie."
