(Re)tired (?)
kosmasp26 June 2019
With a title like that you can expect that people will be interested in it. And it may be good to make people realize that there are also human beings doing this stuff. Jenna Jameson may be the one name almost everyone knows (if you don't count in celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and others - who you could argue got a career out of "porn" - not that some of them needed that but ... here they go.

Herschell Savage - now that is a name you probably don't know. But he makes a compelling case and is a cute weirdo - sort of. And also a romantic as it seems. If that is even possible. But in his example some may think, I'd have loved to hear more from him. But there are so many other ex-stars(?) that there is just no time for that ... plus all the currently working ones who throw in their two cents from segment to segment.

Since there are so many, I'm pretty certain more sequels are about to ... come (yes I had to do at least one pun didn't I?)

Just OK - does not take a realistically critical look and focuses on those with a positive experience
johncg2531 January 2020
I liked the original After Porn Ends, and the 2nd one was OK, and this one..was about the same as the 2nd, or maybe even a little worse, as it was a bit slow at times, but still somewhat interesting, if you like to hear about the history of porn performers during their careers and such.

Mainly, the film isn't even talking about post-porn as much as the film is just talking about each performer talking about their careers and the "good old days" mostly. Probably 60% of the film, a majority..is just talking about their past times during their careers. Which is definitely interesting if you are a fan of porn history, or of learning about performers lives. But it never actually spends much time looking at performers lives present day. Just a sit down interview with each, where they mostly talk about the good times they had. Only 1 of the 6 or so performers even really had a negative experience overall, and still ends their story in a positive. There are undoubtedly many girls who had negative experiences from porn, who are now broke, or regret it, or worse (dead/overdose etc.) and the film never explores a full scope of peoples lives after porn, pretty much just putting a too-positive spin on it.

Beyond that, as it doesn't delve into anything that deep, or troubling, it gets somewhat boring as people are just reminiscing again, on good times they had. As I enjoy this genre and subject, I found it watchable and somewhat interesting, but..is not a good film per se, as it is directed by a former/current performer themselves, so the director is likely too close to the subjects, and does not take a critical unbiased look at the industry really. If you enjoyed the first two films in the serious though, it is worth seeing, if you specifically like learning about the state of porn and performers in the 80's/90's/2000's.

More of the same - continuation of APE 1 & 2 - Brief portraits of ex adult industry performers post their industry careers
srirammeera19 January 2020
Interesting but not as impactful as APE 1 & 2 - Which had BIG names from the golden age 80s and 90s that are still famous - Seka, Janine, Asia Carrara et al One big name that APE 3 has is Christy Canyon (and maybe Tera Patrick but she definitely not in that same league) Now that adult industry and stars have been a regular hohum commodity and mindgeek (owner of Pornhub and zillion other tube sites) has almost killed the classic Adult Industry this is more of a look at the final crop of the old industry stars post their industry careers. Given 100s of tube sites playing millions and millions of clips of performers from 60s to now - not to mention the 10s of thousands of cam models - most of the names unknowns- the golden era of the industry with big-name stars is gone for ever. This serves as a a goodbye note and final hurrah to the closing actors from that age which btw was not so long ago - the early 2000s

For adult industry aficionados only giving them a fond look back to an age of dvd and vhs now gone for ever.

The Sad Truth
jake_fantom3 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The sad truth is, they were boring way back when, at the height of their careers, and they're even more boring now, trying to pretend what great fun it all was, and what pioneers of personal liberty they all were. Pornography itself is inherently boring, and the endless babbling about their so-called lives after porn is one colossal yawn. Plus, in their search for porn "stars", the producers are now plumbing the bottom of the D list. If this crew of has-beens wasn't so enormously self-aggrandizing, one might be tempted to feel some pity for them. But peddling this pathetic lifestyle as fun and glamorous erases any sense of empathy any normal viewer might feel.

Sex for sex sake.

Interviewed are some of the biggest names in the business. You get their story which can vary like the rainbow. In the end, it's a well paying variation on an ancient profession.

Great People Real Stories
allenctroutman23 November 2020
This was a great episode of this series. Who knew how cool and down to earth Bonnie Rotten was? And Herschel too, I would love to have a beer with him. Tera is beautiful. Jenteal seems like your typical girl nextdoor. And Christy Canyon is a stitch. For some it was a way out of a difficult youth and for others it was and is a way of life. This film did a great job of humanizing everyone they interviewed. I could totally see where these people had come from and where they had ended up and felt like I understood some of the choices they made.

Where is the point where God can't save you?
ryanbernard-4575615 April 2022
A lot the women behave like crimes that are paying their penance. It's so weak. If you hit rock bottom go to a retreat that is purely spiritual. Find your centre and start over.

From End to End!
ThatMonkey16 April 2022
Again, this series focuses on talent who probably signs up to shoot again after completing this doc about how they got out. Brittany Andrews is one of the features women in this production. She talks about leaving the industry because of how prevalent the anal genre is and how she isn't interested in doing that. Well, look at her IAFD page and sort her work by year. Guess who has been busy getting her booty busted. She's a dominatrix, DJ and Real Estate agent just to name a few hustles. Sorry, you are telling on yourself that you aren't good at something when you have to hold down 5 jobs just to give the impression your successful.

In a previous film, Lisa Ann reveals that the industry is secretly racist. This claim couldn't be further from the truth. The industry is open about their racism. They used George Floyd death to remove all references of IR scenes from the IAFD because somehow that honors his death. No, it only helps to protect racist producers, agents and talent. IR is a porn genre, and you tell me one other true genre that is not represented on IAFD. Some tried to call IR a fetish, but when people have dies over IR relationships and beliefs, it's not a fetish, it's a lifestyle, so stop trying to pretend like love doesn't transcends race.

I learned something about Tera Patrick and I think her education was the key to her success, she made her money work for her, so she didn't have to grind so hard for her money. Bonnie Rotten also had an interesting story, but it doesn't explain why she was one of the most racist females to ever perform.

This series reveals who is broken, who is smoking and who is choking. I think it's one thing to be smoking hot in your 20's and a Vivid girl and 20 years later be at a legal brothel wondering why no one is interested in your broke down body. The fact that you entered into a contract that pays the house far more than you earn again reveals how your road led to desperation. Lisa Ann said it best, when you avoid black male talent, you are avoiding a large portion of the consumer base. So do you want 100% of a niche market, or 100% potential of the entire market.

Porn doesn't end, you just die, turn your 15 seconds of fame into and additional second, then someone steals your name and the cycle repeats.

Played Out
refinedsugar28 February 2024
The third trip out decided to try and focus on less faces, but give them more time to talk about their stories. It's an apt idea, but you can't help but feel the formula has crossed over from wearing thin to feeling completely played out in 'After Porn Ends 3'. Between all the players & quick soundbites you don't learn anything new.

Priya Rai, Christy Canyon, Jenteal, Tera Patrick, Jenna Presley, Bonnie Rotten get the limelight. The sole male is Herschel Savage - who had one of the best soundbites in the last entry - unless you count husband & wife team of Luc Wylder & Alexandra Silk. Wasting money, identity crisis, fame, drug abuse, moving on. The most interesting piece was talking about the hypocrisy sex workers face trying to hold jobs in the real world. The stigma that always follows them around.

'After Porn Ends 3' will gets viewers, but trips down memory lane only do so much. Brittany Andrews directs this entry. I guess Bryce Waggoner (still a producer here) thought he had milked everything he could in his first two entries & rightfully so. I found myself bored more than once here.

a 20/20 for porn production industry of America
WILLYWU_200@HOTMAIL.COM10 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It is a master piece of a reporting documentary for sex film actors and producers. the film interviewed some of the famous pron stars like jenna presley, priya rai, even from a lot interviews from the oldies, i mean 90s, the legendary luc wylder and alexandra silk from adam and eve production and fallen angle, etc.... the film drew out how they felt for making a living diving in the industry. i believe all their words are honest and from deep of their heart.

it is better have to watch enough porn to understand and admire this documentary. it is fun and interesting to have a pron history lesson. well, time is pushing the industry, "new waves push the old waves out". still unlimited money coming in, but many competitions. it feels like once you are famous in the industry, your whole life will be known in a bad way in the society.

i don't understand why we don't get some concerned reviews for this film on imdb. this film should be in college liberal arts classes.

After Porn Ends 3
jboothmillard24 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Let's be honest, most of us (blokes especially) have watched or been curious about pornography at least once (or many times). I remember seeing this documentary film, or one or two of the others in the series, listed on Netflix, and I was interested to watch it, especially seeing adult stars I may recognise, directed by porn star Brittany Andrews. Basically, the film explores what happens to the actresses and actors who have been in the adult industry, how and why they got into it, their experiences after leaving the industry, and whether it is possible to live a normal life following their exposure (fame, being nude, having sex onscreen, and everything else). Interviewed and sharing their experiences before, during and after being in porn are: Bonnie Rotten, Christy Canyon, Herschel Savage, Jenna Presley, Jenteal, Luc Wylder, Priya Rai and Tera Patrick. It also includes short interviews from current pornographic stars, including: Abigail Mac, Alex Chance, Alexandra Silk, Annie Cruz, Buck Angel, Joanna Angel, Kayden Kross, Kira Noir, Manuel Ferrara, Michael Vegas, Nicolette Shea, Nikki Delano, Romi Rain and Vanessa Veracruz. Most of the stars left the industry to concentrate on a marriage or having children, turning to religion or politics (especially campaigning about the negative aspects of the industry), or just wanting to find themselves and do other things. All the stars talk about the positive aspects of the industry, from the fame (hanging out with other adult stars and celebrities), the fortune, and the experiences (sexual or not), including the changes that came in each decade (from softcore to hardcore magazines, cinema screenings, home video, the internet, and attitudes towards body types, ethnicities, tattoos, etc). They are also open about the negative things that come with being in pornography, including negative press, troubles with personal and public relationships, friendships, health problems, finding other employment, and knowing that whatever they do next, they cannot fully escape their past. You may be fascinated if you recognise the former adult stars talking about themselves, and even if you don't, this is a part of the multi-million business that perhaps not thought of as much, and it makes for some interesting stories. There are obviously parts of the film that will cause distress when they discuss the bad things that can happen going into an industry built around being naked and having sex onscreen, but it gives you a good insight into the people behind the flesh you have seen on video and on the internet, a reasonable documentary. Worth watching!
