As a 33 year old white gay man, I heard there was a "The First Wives Club" tv show remake and no matter what I had to see what this was all about. I signed up for the BET+ streaming service, just to watch the show. Its worth it! Great characters, and great concept! They took the original idea and made it their own! There are a few "callbacks" to the original movie and they are so welcome, but for the most part the show is fresh, funny, and edgy! Definitely worth the watch!

We signed up for a 7 day BET + trial just to watch this show. I hope they have more shows of this caliber. If so we'll keep the service.
My wife and I binged the season in two days. The episodes are fast and funny. You can go through them pretty quickly. Those girls really have some chemistry. The guys on the show are great too. Really impressed with the acting and the writing was funny and sharp. I also loved to see so much of my city in it. Really interested to see where the next season takes us. Keep it up BET!

I love this show. It's quality filming and acting. It's got moments to make you cry and then laugh out loud. The one minor minor flaw is Jill Scott's role. She's just too much in the clouds, and I miss Ari's character. But I do appreciate all the new characters and Michelle (Bree) is awesome! Hilarious and loving, I mainly watch for her :-) anywho if you want a fun free spirit show, tune in, it's great.

I truly enjoyed the program. The writers & actresses did a fabulous job on transitioning a great movie into a great television show. But BET is good at not being consistent with renewing great TV Shows on their network.

I had to leave a review!
I really enjoyed season 1 but this season 2 is a bit over the top unrealistic!
How ridiculous was episode 8???
Who does that?
Destroying their "best friends" house! Acting like children!
Pathetic! I'm out.

I love this show! I can't wait for Season 2! The cast is great along with the story line. Jill Scott, Ryan Michelle Bathe, and Michelle Buteau are the perfect cast. The show really dives into the true meaning of friendship - through good times and bad times. I love to see powerful black women getting the roles on tv they deserve and love to see black culture displayed! Great job ladies, and great job BET+!!!

Pretty decent effort here, but missing a little of the charisma and spark of the film.
I really liked the show when it first came out but the acting and storylines have progressively gotten worse over time.
I hate Jill Scott's acting but I love her (and I appreciate plus size representation) so I continue to watch.
Deborah Cox's acting is horrible. I hope her storyline ends very soon.
I hate giving the show a bad review or low rating because I'm so glad to have this representation on screen but I really hope that future seasons, if there are any, focus more on storylines and improved acting.
Love Gary and Bre's relationship and was very happy to see the new romantic relationship involving Jayla.

Love the honesty of the characters and the beautiful portrayal of African American women in friendship and support of each other.
This is actually one of BET+'s better shows. The show starts to pick up more in the second season, the sets look a lot nicer and the episodes are more fleshed out. Jill Scott, Michelle Buteau and Jordan Carlos are all funny. I like that Bree and Gary's story ark shows how complicated trying to sustain a marriage can be when there has been infidelity. If you enjoy shows like Run The World on the STARZ network or Harlem on Amazon Prime (like I do) you may enjoy this as well. Its an easy show to binge watch, I also like how some of the moments in the show feel authentic to certain adult's experience such as balancing career opportunities alongside relationships.
Great season that really touch on some real life issues and challenges that many people face today! Very talented actresses and actors. Enjoyed the show thoroughly!!

This is the best. Made me cry and laugh. You women did it. I love me some Jill Scott and the other two women did it also. I hope that you all have more to come.

The directing, editing, and script is so bad. Great actors but the story line was all over the place, lots of errors in the editing. Saw the Georgia State University sign in a scene in NYC. Direction was off in lots of the scenes. The fake Jamaican accents were horrible. Wardrobe and Makeup was dated. The men bashing scenes were a bit annoying. I am so confused why people love this show. The funny parts were so desperate and just corny. This show made me sad. I couldn't believe so many awesome
Actors hopped on this hot mess of a show. A cringe worthy show that doesn't deliver. Can't wait for new shows to come on.

I guess these kind of shows still exist in BET.
The drama, the predictability just bored me right out.
I started to fast forward because the dialogues don't matter.
They still portray black people with attitude and hype their status to make them relevant.
The stories need to be better and real. And the actors need to be more challenged in their roles.
These kinds of shows show laziness of the writers.
It would be nice for the audience to see the real lives of black people both successful and not!
Extremely disappointed that Netflix buys into this, because it has the potential to be better.

I'm hooked! Looking forward to season 2!! The ladies not only have the chemistry of BFs but also bring relevant issues to light that impact today's women. I love it! I was a fan of the movie but this series takes the story to the next level.

I just found this show & literally power watched both seasons in under a day. Actually, I did know about it, but hesitated in watching it, thinking it was just a rehash of the movie (which I loved as well). I'm so happy to see a show of positivity with strong, sensitive, loving mature women of color.. This world needs more shows like this. While the show is funny as heck, each of the characters, although with their flaws have depth. I can't wait for season 3. There, better be a season 3 BET+, just saying. Oh & I've told ALL my friends back home in Hawai'i that if they haven't watched it they should.
If you need a comedy show to watch this is it!!. This show will have you up all night binging.

I think this is a show that you either love or don't at the start, and for me it's a miss.
Michelle Buteau was the reason I started it in the first place. She and the other women leads (Ryan Michelle Bathe, Jill Scott) were great as the "wives." Buteau is her usual powerhouse and great fun to watch.
People who are looking for depth in either the women or men characters must not remember the original movie, which was just as driven by types and tropes.
But it still missed for me in spite of liking the actresses and accepting the premise.
I'm not sure why except to say after a bit it felt like it was "trying to hard." And that may be due to it being a series, not just a movie.
They're pushing something made for an afternoon up a hill--will viewers come back not just when "in the mood for this sort of story," but long term to binge?
For me, the answer ended up being a no.
Maybe I'll try again later, but for now I'm stopping mid course.
