The Campbell River Store, used as a location along Shaun's route, also appeared in Freddie Highmore's last series, Bates Motel (2013).
In interviews actress Paige Spara, who plays Lea, cites this as one of her favorite episodes because as a relatively new actress she got to do many things for the first time, such as shooting scenes while in a car and doing walking and talking scenes with Freddie Highmore (Shaun). She also said this was the episode where the great chemistry between her and Highmore was highlighted for the first time.
First appearance of Lea's car called the Striped Tomato, so named after a similar car used in the 1970s TV police show Starsky and Hutch.
