Bringing back Patrick Swayze for this episode was a little weird, but revisiting the "Road House" quote while looking at the camera made it worth it. I could certainly do without the fart humor, but I guess as a dog owner I know that rings true.

We've seen TV shows do this plot before, but it was certainly not as bad as some Family Guys we have seen this season. I laughed a couple of times so for this show in 2017 I will chalk that up as a win.

The craziest episode ever I freaking love it

This Christmas episode of Family Guy was hilarious as hell. Everything from the Peter Griffin/Patrick Swayze story arc was established very well. The irony in the Charles Dickens play was very satirical and cynically over the top but, it was definitely worth laughing throughout the entire episode. I love all the Christmas episodes of Family Guy, but this Christmas episode was superb and up there with every single Christmas episode that Family Guy has done. I can't wait for the show to return in 2018 for it's 19th anniversary because next week it will the original unaired pilot's 20th anniversary which aired on December 20,1998 7 days after my 5th birthday. Happy 19th and 20th anniversary Family Guy, you rock!

Brian, Peter and Carter learn to not be a dick at Christmas.

It's actually hard for me to talk about this episode without mentioning Crimes and Meg's Demeanor first. When Brian died 4 years ago in Life of Brian, Christmas Guy's original plot with Peter and Carter got bogged down by Stewie being sad about having to spend Christmas without Brian because he died. I'm just glad that Crimes and Meg's Demeanor had Brian get to move back in with the Griffins after 3 episodes once he busted Principal Shepherd, because this episode being next and the aforementioned Christmas Guy makes me wonder how much different this would be if Brian had to spend Christmas by himself in the apartment and Stewie had to spend a second Christmas without him. I actually think about that every time I see Brian onscreen in this episode. Thankfully, by his 2nd episode in the apartment, his redemption's fulfilled once he gets Principal Shepherd arrested, Lois forgave Brian for his bad joke, the other strangers who were mad at Brian probably forgot about him offscreen during these 3 episodes (including this one), and Brian is back home for Christmas with all of his bones healed.

As for the actual plot of this episode, I thought it was brilliant that the deceased Patrick Swayze was actually voiced by his still-living brother Don Swayze (who I assume sounds very close to Patrick's voice), and Peter learned to keep an open mind to spending Christmas with Lois's wealthy parents with the rest of the family before they abandoned him for good. It's really great for Family Guy's 16th season that they have 3 episodes where Brian learns why he shouldn't be a dick, and the following Christmas episode teaches Peter the same thing. All we need is another Season 16 episode about Stewie that's a lot better than his nasty behavior in Send in Stewie, Please.

Also, since Veggietales changed A Christmas Carol to An Easter Carol, that made me realize how cool it would be if I made A Valentine's Day Carol in Star vs. the Forces of Evil where Star Butterfly and her Star of Valentine's Past, Star of Valentine's Present and Star of Valentine's Future show Brittney Wong why she shouldn't be bossy and shut everybody out with her meanness.

This episode is pure gold. The best episode like in 3 or 4 seasons lol.
