I started this movie having the impression it's going to be a normal movie or something but it was actually fun. Some funny moments and kisses. It's a good movie. You should see it.

I have good instinct about this movie even if it has low point and my instinct was right after ! I really enjoyed it while I'm watching it. And I recommend it to you for a 90 min of fun ! I don't even realize I 'm still in quarentine for 38 days !!!

Holly Slept Over (2 out of 5 stars).

Holly slept over is a eh comedy film about a couple which the wifes friend from college is coming to visit. Well the husband finds out the wife actually slept with her and had an attraction. Well the plot is about him trying to get his wife and Holly to all have a threesome.

The plot is very thin. With a forgettable storyline. The performances were serious. The theme of the story is about a couple trying to spice their marriage. They had a few laughs very few in between. The direction is dull.

Overall, Holly Slept Over is a boring comedy that lacks with a story. Script. And humor.

Pretty good but a cop out in the end.

I liked the movie up until the end. It's obvious the two women were still in love with each other yet it's all wrapped up in a hetero normative bow? That just seemed like a cop out from the director.

If you know what I meant the title u should feel the same. This movie is just a in-depth version of the 3 person in the imaginary scene of the drama. I would say inspired from there be more appropriate.

Lighthearted adult comedy - that finaly misses the point

This movie is funny, sexy, has good acting and even a nice cinematography. And it is moving more and more into daring territory and challenges conservative sexual morality. But just to a certain extent.

After Audra and Noel finally let their pretences and reservations drop and have a threesome with freeminded Holly the real nature of Audra and Hollys relationship is revealed: they had a serious lesbian relationship over two years in college. And they are still in love, allthough Audra loves Noel as well. Everything seems to point out to a possible realy free minded polyamourous relationship of the three, but at this point the heterosexual Noel is threatened and shuts the door to this possible future. So does the writer/director.

In the end the whole "menage a trois" is reduced to a sexual fantasy coming true to spice up the conservative heterosexual marriage. The bisexuality of Audra is reduced to some teenage folly. So finally this movie, allthough it seemed to be very promising, returns to the male dominated norm, and its fear to be downsized by female emotional and sexual potential, instead of using this potential to step into a more broad minded state of consciousness and relationship - like executed in the fine movies "Kiss me again" or "Prof. Marston and the Wonderwoman".

But still, it is funny and sexy and maybe makes some people think a little about their sexual and social boundaries.

Bit boring, pointless

Some interesting, awkward and funny situations which is just life, but the movie went nowhere with them, except cliches. I regretted spending that much time on this movie.

Funny, touching, and felt very real at the same time

It might be because I'm the perfect age group for this, but this movie was so honest that it felt good. Sexuality and relationships are inherently messy things, and this movie does everything justice while keeping things funny. I think the target audience for a movie like this might be rather small though, it doesn't really fall into any traditional categories or genres. This is maybe why there are some very negative reviews, but the acting is phenomenal, you identify or care about the characters, and it's wholeheartedly a good simple movie.

Guite a good movie

Yeah, although it started as a sweet comedy, ended as quite good family drama opening some family relations and breaking some standardised taboos. Do not watch in front of your kids or parents. And, yes, if you want to have an amazing female character, bring Nathalie Emmanuele into your movie, she is so adorable. Additionaly, guys shouldn be moralists as the main character in the movie is.

Trust me, when I say that. I'm very lenient while reviewing any movie. But, After watching this movie I'm highly disappointed. It is all about threesome actually. Nothing else. Movie revolves around sex in relationship. The topic is good to make a movie on. But, the opportunity lost big time. I couldn't watch it even.

After watching the intriguing trailer for this film, for what I now recognize to be months late, I found myself with only two options: either I would rent or buy. Cautious with my time and money, it seems I chose right. This unusual comedy turned out to be worth my time and cash.

I would have given it a lot higher rating if the actresses seemed more into it

I would have considered the two ladies to have shown more passion for each other than they showed making out especially not seeing each other in so long with the feelings that they had shared. Bedroom scene should have had more Blue Is the Warmest Colour enthusiasm with their kissing & another 15 minutes in bed was needed. The husbands attitude towards what had just happened was boring as most guys would have tried to have the gorgeous Holly's character move in for good & enjoying every second in every guys dream.

Gross.

... this is one of the better versions of the 'Threesome'-genre than you'll find in quite some searching... everyone is charming-good-looking, and can act on a level that is quite unexpected... and the husband's-good-buddy interactions are actually quite amusing

... when you come across actors that are unknown to you, and having a decent-script to work with.. surprising things just might happen... not saying it'll be around matching up with award winning productions, yet it will entertain you.. and that's all that really can be asked of any films in this grouping... it really could have gone into a short series and been quite good.

Finally an honest movie about men, women and desire!

This movie is a welcomed breath of fresh air. An honest depiction of men, women, desire and relationships. The only thing wrong with it is the ending. The women clearly wanted to run off together and live the life they were afraid of in their youth. Too bad it ended like every other movie with an lgbt character... as a third wheel for the sake of excitement and viewers. Since the movie was so different from the rest, a different ending would have been the perfect icing on the cake.

Surprising good, well acted and funny

I'm not really sure what else you'd be looking for in a "rom com" but this checks all the boxes for me. I'd never heard of it and had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It has a very real feeling to it and the actors did a great job. The only thing that was stretch a bit was the fact that people were very open with deeply personal issues. That's not typical but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. If also a bit more vulgar than a typical rom com that wasn't made by Judd Apatow but I still found it pretty entertaining.

I was surprised to see the review score so low on this one. Definitely underrated.

I was not expecting too much from this movie based on the 5.1/10,but it turned out to be so good.This gave me a lesson "to never judge a book by its cover". I recommend this movie,you will have a good time.

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?

Movie was great, Well acted and the story was fun. Good to see Ron Livingston working again. I generally enjoy anything he is in. If you have ever been in a swinger relationship, the movie is cakewalk. If not, it could be somewhat awkward as a couple. However.....

Why? The ending was sort of unnerving. I think the acting was a little overboard by Josh Lawson when he found out they were actually "in love" with each other in college. So what? You have had this marriage for so long, why would that bother him? It's old history between them. It would be like getting upset over other people she had dated, etc. ESPECIALLY when, after that drama bomb was dropped, she tells Josh that she was pregnant and miscarried in college, as well. To me, that would be more important information than the two women once being secretly in love with each other. I would have had no issue with the whole college love thing. I'd get back in bed, curl up together in a 3-way Twister mess. WAY over dramatized. That's y I rated 8. If it weren't for that, I would have given a 9/19. And Nathalie Emmanuelle is incredibly HOT! Good movie all around.
