Was actually surprised buy this little mystery, as it started off with a visit from an old mentor of Julia's and the plot seemed to be heading down a pretty standard path of issue (age-ism) and puzzle (a question as to whether or not a suicide was really a murder). But as the subsequent bodies were discovered, modern investigative techniques were explored, Crabtree did some fine old fashioned policing, and the ending had just the right amount of twist to be surprisingly satisfying. The episode did include the continuing story arc of Julia's infertility concerns and her collaboration with a thoroughly overplayed and under-pleasant female research scientist, who has already overstayed her series welcome. It is also apparent now that Julia is keeping her hopes for pregnancy away from her husband...so more marriage-drama is undoubtedly on the season's horizon.
