Yet another unlikely gorgeous female agent
kris-gray30 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Like Gibbs we all knew Jack was another agent 30 seconds after she turns up in his house claiming her car had broken down in the storm. So we have another ex model in the cast, are we meant to believe there are so many in the security services? It was sad when Ziva left and it took a while for me to warm to Bishop but I got there eventually. However when Tony left I was really concerned to see if the show could survive, his humour was vital and sorry but Torres is no replacement, happy birthday today 30.1.18 to Wilmer by the way.

Story lines are much the same quality, this wasn't the worst but still not the best. I'm interested to see where they will take this new arrival, Jack, is she going to be yet another super human, kiss ass woman?

I await with baited breath.

Skeleton Crew

Warning: Spoilers
Emily Wickersham gave another good performance in this Bishop-heavy episode, but expect the internet to still complain about the character. Wilmer is fitting in as well in his second season, but he needs to embrace comedy more. Torres should be more of a joker than he is, just go all out with the DiNozzo replacement.

Good case, good episode here.

Nice to see a solid one!

Warning: Spoilers
After "House Divided" being fine premiere to 15th season, "Twofer" disappointing and "Exit Strategy" more so, I was wondering: is one of my most beloved shows going under? Luckily, underwhelming is not a word for the case of "Skeleton Crew", which is easily one of the better episodes of the recent memory. It's not a perfect entry, though stands out solid enough.

Let's start with good.

. The murder mystery of "Skeleton Crew" is hugely compelling, twists and turns keep coming. It is nice that humor gets back on track with couple of very tasty jokes- especially liked the murder mystery party opening scene, which set the tone of this entry very nicely. The murderer is a person, who I did not guess as well.

The direction, acting are all good. A newcomer Jacqueline Sloane, who seems like an interesting character, is well portrayed by Maria Bello, even though rest of the cast is quite good too.

There is one big issue that I had with this episode though..

. To be frank, how Jacqueline Sloane is introduced as a character, I found extremely obvious of what the writer was doing. Also, the subplot about Ellie Bishop meeting up with her high school bully had a very standard conclusion with "I have changed" sentence used too much there.

"Skeleton crew" is a good episode, though not of shows best.

Morse code ?
thedude-523 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Nice to see Rocky in the Directors chair.

So the storm knocked out all the Navy ships communications...... really?

Mobile (cell) phone, yes I can understand having blinds pots on a public boat, but not a billion dollar Military ship.

Also, & here is the kicker, they used Abby's "vintage" pagers, OK good idea but I know for a fact that every Navy ship, (US & UK) are still fitted with Morse code & no storm has ever affected Morse code.

Subs still use it today when they are 100's of metres underwater.

As for the story, yes, good episode, Bishop heavy episode but she (& Emily) did a great job.

So far I'm really liking S15.

Hurricane idiocy
malachite-784323 July 2022
Okay. The mystery is okay. I liked it.

But...

Living in Florida and having gone through three hurricanes- Irma, Charlie and Wilma, I was struck and completely annoyed by the behavior of the cast, which I love, except for Bishop, who I tolerate.

First, no one flies a helicopter during a hurricane and no boss orders his staff to fly out to a ship on it.

No boss orders his crew to go out and find people to bring them back to interrogate them.

You don't control a hurricane no matter how strong you are and how much you want to solve a crime.

You stop whatever you are doing and hope that the place you are staying survives with the roof and windows intact. And the power stays on.

The hurricane controls you and if you have any brains, you respect it's life ending power and get back to your life when the power is back on and the flooding recedes.

Writers, you looked like horses asses with this episode. You couldn't ask someone who survived a hurricane for some tips?
