Warning: Spoilers
The previous episode was meandering and at times cringeworthy, but now we are back in action.

Great action, both on land and sky and There is a great chase Sequence. Nothing spectacular when it comes to acting, but there is an intensity to the episode. A welcome and need booster shot for the series.

Animation, like most of the season is good, but nothing compared to the clone wars, and the series continues to have an incredibly small number of characters on screen at any given time. The space battle is cut off abruptly due to the budget, but I would rather have had this sequence extended then sit through the previous episode. But all and all an engaging episode.

"Rebel Assault"

After the underwhelming nature of the last episode, they came back with an explosion. The episode began with an epic space battle that did justice to the great nature of the show. We saw the grand return of Grand Admiral Thrawn and his role in the episode was that of a great antagonist, something we have been missing ever since last season. A lot of the episode was focused on Hera and her attempts to escape the Empire, and usually, I like the episodes where the entire crew are together, but with this episode being a lead-up to the finale of the series, I accept that they'll have to focus a little more time on the individual characters. And Hera is one of the best, so to see her for an entire episode was not a bad thing. I felt like the battle had an ending that was a little too abrupt for something of that importance, but it didn't do much to ruin the episode for me. The episode was strong and had some great action sequences, and Hera really stepped in as a leader here. I'm excited to see what's going to happen next, and I hope that something good will come for our heroes in the future.

Was not expecting this one-off to end the way it did!

Definitely a step up from the previous episode. We're now back to the quality of everything up to that point. This episode had a great sense of danger and uncertainty. I would not be mad if someone did a Star Wars movie like this episode, someone on the run and being tracked down in a small town by the Empire.

A great cliffhanger as well. Leaves me anxious and excited for what's to come!

War Heroes

Epic battle ensues as our heroes launch an attack on the Imperial base on Lothal.

The desperate threat they face is excitingly evoked and the action scenes are brilliantly created.

Hera is a tremendous heroic character and I found the story and her peril incredibly involving.

Thrawn has become a superb villain already by this point but is at his smoothly ingenious best here. The quiet menace created by the writing, animation and performance of Thrawn is hugely impressive.

A great cliffhanger leaves us gagging to see the next episode.

My rating: 9.5/10.

The best episode yet
grafxman13 January 2018
This episode has a terrific plot. It has a surplus of action. It's a desperate effort to remove the most serious threat the rebels have yet faced. All the characters we love and hate are involved. As I say above, it's the best episode yet and I've seen them all!
