Great Fan Made Documentary
Christmas-Reviewer11 September 2017
BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE MOVIE. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 300 HOLIDAY FILMS & SPECIALS. I HAVE NO AGENDA.

This is a must see if you love "A Christmas Story". What is great about this special is that this was made by true fans of the movie. So they know what fans really want to see.

During an adventure spanning two years and two countries, two mega- fans of "A Christmas Story" set out to discover all the film's shooting locations. Along the way they uncover forgotten facts, discover little-known locations and recover long-lost movie memorabilia.

Tyler and Jordie Schwartz grew up loving the movie A Christmas Story. Although they didn't t know each other as kids, the couple always shared the same annual anticipation of waiting for the movie to air on television. Once they finally met, they were delighted to discover their mutual admiration for the classic Christmas movie.

This is worth buying.

Does Things only a fan film can do

On location where they shot movies has become a you tube staple. Think of any film that was shot on real locations then someone has a video on that location on You Tube.

Now some of those videos are very good but most of them are just Okay. This documentary of real life locations for "A Christmas Story" is very charming. In fact it was done with love. It is also fun to see true fans of a film getting excited over the littlest things that a studio based documentary would of never covered.

In this documentary we see the real fire truck, department store restaurants, and house where this movie was shot.

It makes a great companion piece to watch after you viewed the film. Keep in mind there is no cast interviews here. This is about the locations and it is fun to see how they look today.

So much potential

This was a fun trip and a lot of fun to watch. But I'll be damned if the BELLS during each of the 90000 title screens made it almost unwatchable. I may have to redo this myself for one of our TV shows... with NO BELLS!!! Man, my head still hurts...

Sleigh bells ring and ring and ring and ring and...
hershiser210 January 2018
I wanted to like this but only got increasingly annoyed by the constant ringing of sleigh bells with every cut. I'm not exaggerating to say I'd guess about third of this movie is nothing but sleigh bells ringing over text.

Cute But the Bells are Annoying!

This was a cute documentary, and it was made with a lot of love. I saw the movie back in theaters when it was released, and I;m one of those weirdos who throws it on every Xmas when TBS shows it for 24 hours. I also recently saw the sequel "A Christmas Story Christmas" which I cannot recommend enough.

But there are several title cards in the move, for each artifact, movie site, etc, and each time there are these annoying sleigh bells, and they are also in the background for much of the movie. I had to mute them as they started to give me a headache.

I also wish when they pointed out certain scenes they could have shown the clips or even stills from the movie, but I guess that;s a copyright thing.

Fun to watch, annoying to hear.
