The Pain of Not Being Funny
Hitchcoc15 December 2018
Midge decides to find money for herself. So she goes to a department store and tries to get a job as an elevator operator. As it turns out, her best course is to work in the makeup department. One again she tries to her act at Susie's place. It's a nightmare. Then she tries professional training. Nightmare number two. Meanwhile her ex is trying to make a go with the former secretary. Not so great. This episode is more expository.

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 5: Good production value, nice setting, true "epoque" atmosphere, big acting and score, but not a comedy, not truly hilarious and dragging a bit, this time less (than a bit) though.

It doesn't quite know what it wanna do with itself, "la serie pietine", moves at its own pace, does some bright things along the way and in conclusion is not completely satisfying.

Quality doesn't always mean satisfaction. It lacks flow and "leaders" in its storyline.

Brosnahan shines as does the setting. The storyline plots not so much.
