When Michael presented his roast I actually thought of Ted Danson's infamous roast of his then girlfriend Whoopi Goldberg. I wondered for the briefest of moments, would The Good Place writers do the comedically subversive twist and have Whoopi appear in a provocative cameo? Not to be.
Anyway, the ending is kind of a Sixth Sense twist for sure I guess.

After the cliffhanger to the last episode, what can happen next?
This will surprise you. Another incredible bit of scripting that packs a heck of a lot into twenty two minutes. And with a wonderful dilemma at the centre of it about trust. Which will keep you guessing right to the end. When it reveals just how staggeringly clever it's been, and makes you look at all that came before in a whole new light.
Added to which: something new for Janet to do which D'arcy carden responds to as brilliantly as ever. More bad Janet. And the return of someone you might have thought you'd seen the last of.
One brilliantly emotional moment. And an episode that leaves you wondering the fork can happen now. But you won't want to wait to find out. Brilliant writing and acting. As ever
