Nemesis 5 The New Model: I'm in awe
Platypuschow30 January 2019
The New Model is the 10th movie in the Cyborg/Nemesis franchise which started all the way back in 1989 with Jean Claude Van-Damme's Cyborg. 21 years after the last movie from the series was made (Nemesis 4 1996) it returns with this "delight".

You see the movies have never been been good, they've simply ranged from bad to very bad but this is certainly a new low.

Sue Price returns yet again as Alex though only briefly. I can only assume she returned for the nostalgia or must have been desperate for money.

You see here is the issue, though all the Cyborg/Nemesis movies were bad they at least looked the b-movie part whereas this is something else altogether. The New Model is a hyper low budget independent movie which truth be told I'm absolutely stunned at the quality of (Or lack thereof). Instead of professional b-movie, this is VHS camcorder, toy laser guns and dreadful Adobe Aftereffects sfx.

No really, I can't stress enough how bad it looks. It's one stage up from being done on someones phone, the acting is some of the worst I've seen in years, the sfx are cringe inducing and the whole thing is really embarrassing.

Whatever my opinions of the franchise it really didn't deserve this. Considering they started in the 80's and this was released in 2017 it raises all kind of questions why this is the ugliest and cheapest of them all.

Incredibly there is another one in production, this is a franchise that died in the 90's but nobody had the heart to tell it.

The Good:

Absolutely nothing

The Bad:

Beyond ugly

Dreadful CGI

Cringe inducing acting

The fight sequences are some of the worst ever put to film

Awful filler scenes

Stock screams

Skip this at all cost

This movie is total crap, the first Nemesis was pretty good can you believe it was filmed in 1992 and the special effects, the way the movie was filmed is more professional then this pile of garbage, that is amateur at best, with the worst FX i have seen on a sci fi movie, its part of a so called Nemesis franchise......... why is this so amateurish? awful from start to finish, when you cringe at the first frame you know you are in for a long awful movie.

Worst !
saptesh78627 December 2018
Just watch this title. Wondering that even a English movie can be idiot like Bollywood Z grade worst movie ! I have nothing to write about the movie, but I suggest others not to watch at all ! No proper story, not like a science fiction, no suspense, no thrill. I did not understand till the end what is going on and how it will end. Thanks God for short of length of the movie. It is only relief for me. Firstly I had stopped seeing after 15-20 minutes, I could not dare to go further, but then keep till end in another section to finish at least.

Never follow the road here.

Why?
fstammen31 December 2018
Just imagine as a bunch of kids you watched Nemesis 1 or 2 and think that you want to be like that and as a 8 year old you pretend to be in such a movie. As props you use plastic toy laser guns and such. And you just play around.

Well, that is this movie! No effort was put in this and to sell this they named it Nemesis 5 to pretend it has something to do with the original movie.

This is just slightly better then Birdemic but only just. Avoid at all cost!

OMG
ZhuLien10 November 2019
OMG! I really like Nemesis. Nemesis 2 was watchable but not a good movie. 3 was terrible. 4 was extremely bad. Now this is beyond words. I am only 30 minutes into it, it is so hard to watch. The entire running length is 70 minutes, yet the first 10 minutes is the credits... twice with about 2 minutes of crappy intro between. There are large bits of filler, watching the desert. The acting, did they just grab a bunch of mates? If it was a film students first attempt at making a movie as a school project, well... it will still be bad, but you have to start somewhere. This is really really really bad, on every level. Acting, Plot, CGI, and this 70 minutes heavily filled in movie is just sooooo boring. It's almost cringe worthy in every scene.

No One Can Appreciate The Simple Things In Life Like Smelling A Flower
DavyDissonance15 August 2019
After two plus decades without a Nemesis movie we finally got one here. And it's about time! Thank God because I was planning on killing myself if another one didn't come to fruition. Nemesis 5 has everything: ugly actors, CGI so bad even a blind man can perceive it, horrible acting, cheesy EBM soundtrack, abysmal action sequences, excruciatingly slow pacing and meaningless fillers and, the cherry on top, one of the worst anticlimactic endings of all time. And, of course, it has a political message involving communism battling fascism which is mentally deficient. Anyways, I can't keep up the charade. This movie sucked and is nowhere near as good as the first three Nemesis movies but I will say this; it was better than Nemesis 4. So there's a plus. You might get a chuckle out of this one but this is the Hindenburg times infinity. For maniacal and desperate completists at the very best.

1 is not low enough of a score for this
authorcamilson-499-15685830 January 2020
I came into this thinking it would be something interesting to watch. I was so wrong. I managed to skip through the long opening credits then had enough at the 7 minute point. I have seen some doozies that are crap, and this is yet another masterpiece of crap to add to the pile.

WOW
kwskws17 November 2019
I usually count on the ratings on IMDB but wow. How this "movie" got anything above a 3 is beyond me. From the bad acting to the grade school special effects to the guy with a mini cam cinematography. Sorry gang, you really got this one wrong.

Red Army Hammerheads
nogodnomasters27 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Cyborg terrorists known as the "Red Army Hammerheads" have taken things over and battle the L.A.P.D. They have also taken over the news networks and create fake news making themselves look like the good guys. Ari (Schuylar Craig) goes back into time...to stop the cyborgs before they start? Nope, she goes back to stop their media takeover by going after their trusted broadcaster John Walker who has a British accent and a lisp. She needs to go into the wasteland which is apparently Nebraska with a red filter on the lens.

The sound was hollow. The photography was bad. The fight choreography was a joke. Special effects left something on the table. The dialogue wasn't even good. Stupid first-person narration in the beginning. About an hour long between the credits. Mel Novak at his career's end.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity. Grope scene.

For Hardcore fans only!
knifebat13 January 2020
In my opinion this film is for the hardcore fans of the franchise only and even for the hardcore fan it might test their patience. I enjoyed seeing Sue Price make a brief appearance. I enjoyed the music. I enjoyed seeing this director's take on the Nebula, it was kind of Tron like, I dug the effects. It was also nice to see the twins given an homage even though they don't look that close to the originals. This film made me think that a super fan of the franchise made it. I felt the same way after seeing Phantasm Ravager. At the end of the day I'm glad I saw it. Whether people think it was good bad or ugly I hope the franchise continues.

A bad film with an excellent soundtrack
pxlent9 September 2020
This film is what happens when the local goth/rivethead folks make a movie. Yeah, the dialogue and plot are bad, but the music is fantastic. They even got VAC to do the theme. Other songs are provided by Pandora Black (if you liked Switchblade Symphony, you'll like them).

It's mildly entertaining, and makes for good late-night viewing.

So Sue Price is still hot & Mel Novak is still menacing....
guestar57-625-40117914 March 2018
Stars: Mel Novak, Dawna Lee Heising and Sue Price.

So, The credits come off like Star Wars or how all Albert Pyun movies with a lengthy set-up begin...

This soundtrack needs to be on I-tunes soon,Amazing music from Velvet Acid Christ and other bands,I think.

So, Im guessing by the credits and what I gathered from Plot, Sue Price has played female ALEX lead since male one from part 1, Olivier Gruner ,walked away failing to stop the Red Army Hammerheads from world domination. Sue Price looked amazing to this day and that body was built for our enjoyment.

Okay part I loved was Mel Novak & Dawna Lee Heising recreating the climax of Bruce Lee's Game Of Death, Mel knows most of his henchmen/cyborgs have failed to protect him ,But using a Kill Bill demeanor of lethal logic,With Dawn Lee doing a 'Pamela Anderson' Cyborg(c) turn...things get better for the humans.

Whoa first it had the longest buildup w credits then credits again wth???So is this an official Nemesis film? If yes why? The acting is non descript, the action scenes are atrocious. It almost feels like a fan movie or something. Oh and using toy plastic laser guns is too obvious. So hmm why a two? Well the music is actually pretty damn cool, its the only redeeming quality of this movie. Oh and the chicks are cool some classic from the franchise and some not. So I take it another tax write off.

Not great
garybartzjd21 September 2020
Sci Fi robot vs augmented human movie with gun fu and kung fu.

The best way to describe it is to describe the first 15 minutes. There is a very very long scroll describing a long and involved back story. Then the credits start, inter spaced with a shot of a hill in the desert and nothing happening. Finally there is a girl in an alley, and she hears gun shots. In the building is an older actress in black business attire with high heels and a mini skirt, who is "shooting" at a combat robot. Except the guns were toys off a discount rack and the actors were flicking the guns towards each other and they put in cheap effect in post. Then the actress slow runs over and beats the robot with weird spark effects.

Then a long voiceover where the child actress describes a bunch of back story that may have been interesting to see, about living with the older actress.

The older actress disappears and the movie appears to start with a scene where the child is now 20, and is seducing another woman only to shoot her in the head without earning, and we learn through terrible computer effects that she is a death bot. A second set of credits start. Not joking. At least as long as the first set of credits.

That ends finally, with two women in weird blond wigs and red sex outfits slow walking doing the same weird gun flick shooting, with even worse special effects, as the child now adult character walks slightly faster than them to get away, and a cut to the simply worse TV movie version of a news cast ever.

All with terrible yellow filters on 90% of the shots. It is all so bad. The acting was like a bunch of middle school kids playing with a camera phone making a movie to pass an afternoon
