"I'm a dude in a room talking to a dude in a room." XYZ Films has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Share?, from filmmaker Ira Rosensweig. The indie film is another social experiment game / live stream thriller, playing on the mechanics of social media to create something unsettling. Aided solely by a primitive computer, he fights to survive in a new existence where entertainment is the only currency and discover who imprisoned him, why, and if there is any possibility of escape. Melvin Gregg stars as the lead – he's not alone in this streaming prison: Bradley Whitford, Alice Braga, & Danielle Campbell are also stuck in the system, too. They don’t know how to escape or when this game will end. All they can do is keep each other company while entertaining...

That’s Life, the new Fidlar EP coming March 17th, was conceived in the throws of a Lake Powell Dmt ceremony, and the band’s latest single, “Centipede,” captures that energy with violently ecstatic guitar paired with skin-crawling epiphanies.
The skate punk trio’s last studio project was the 2019 album Almost Free, and they began to conceive That’s Life on a 2020 trip through the southwest that featured lots of hiking, sun, and psychedelics. Frontman Zac Carper composed the first draft of lyrics while tripping on Dimethyltryptamine, and so far that session has yielded the two-minute adrenaline rush “Fsu,” as well as “Sand on the Beach,” and “Taste the Money,” all of which appear on the EP.
“Centipede” is another straight-up ripper, though once your lizard brain lets you take a breath, your frontal lobe might chuckle at the lyrics. “My girlfriend thinks I’ll abandon her,” Carper sings, “She’s my Oasis,...

The film from Emmy-nominated director Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) centers on Sophie (Hathaway), a 40-year-old divorced mother. Sophie’s husband Dan left her for a younger woman, and now he has canceled his Coachella trip with their 15-year-old daughter. Sophie then picks up the pieces, braving the crowds and desert heat in Dan’s place. It’s one thing to have the moves like Jagger — it’s another to wow Mick Jagger so much he starts dancing in the studio. However, such pinch-me moments have become common for “Sugar” singer Francesco Yates, whose musical rise has also seen him make his mark with Drake, tour with Justin Timberlake, and get memorable advice from Sir Paul McCartney.
“I feel like people think I’m lying about some of these stories, but I’m not,” laughs the Scarborough, Canada, native, speaking to us before performing at California’s Shoreline Amphitheatre, opening for the Backstreet Boys on their “DNA” world tour. “I feel very lucky.”
The 26-year-old musician’s also pinching himself about being back touring after Covid-19 brought his star-studded climb to a halt. Of course, the pandemic couldn’t dim the drive of a performer who was just two when he began singing and strumming away at a toy guitar.

Taylor Zakhar Perez (The Kissing Booth 2 & 3) and Nicholas Galitzine (Cinderella) have been tapped to lead Prime Video’s romantic comedy Red, White & Royal Blue, based on Casey McQuiston’s bestselling novel of the same name. Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López (The Inheritance) will direct, in his feature debut, with Clifton Collins Jr. (Westworld), Stephen Fry (The Dropout) and Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life) also aboard to star.
Red, White & Royal Blue follows the Mexican-American character Alex Claremont-Diaz (Perez) who, upon his mother’s election as President, is promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, brilliant―his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There’s only one problem: Alex has a long-running feud with his royal counterpart across the pond, Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine). Romanian director Andrei Hutleac's consideration of viral videos and everyone's 15 minutes of fame is so barbed and dark in places the comedy feels fully weaponised as he takes an unfortunate moment and spins it sharply into the arena of modern social networking. Knowing that the film was inspired by a real-life event that saw a woman go viral in Korea back in 2005 only adds to its underpinning of melancholy.
Where many cyberbullying films have tended to focus on teenagers and/or sex-shaming, including Story Of A Girl and Share, Hutleac's film emphasises how a largely insignificant, if unlucky incident, can happen to anybody, whatever their age, spiralling out of control when it hits the Twittersphere and the daily news cycle.
Alina (Andreea Gramosteanu) is a pretty standard type of person. In fact, if anything, she's slightly more caring than the average, given we will learn she was recently her bank's employee of.

The film release calendar has always played home to serendipitous programming choices, from movies with strangely similar titles hitting at the same time to features that seem ripped from the same script (as with the infamous 1998 double whammy of “Deep Impact” and “Armageddon”), but this week at the movies offers something with a twist: two new movies with not just closely aligned plots, but nearly identical praise. Two is a trend!

Exclusive: Word is getting around that British actor Nicholas Galitzine has won the role of Prince Robert in Sony’s upcoming Camila Cabello musical Cinderella.
After a long search, Galitzine, I hear, wowed the filmmakers in many chemistry readings. In addition to Cabello, the actor joins Idina Menzel and Billy Porter (as the fairy godmother) in the Kay Cannon-directed and scripted feature. James Corden produces and has a story by credit. A production start is scheduled for February for a Feb. 5, 2021 release.
Galitzine’s first big film break came at the age of 20 about five years ago when he scored a role opposite Luke Perry in John Williams’ The Beat Beneath My Feet which played the Berlinale in 2015. In that movie Galitzine played Tom, a teenage loner who discovers his rock god neighbor has faked his death over tax fraud and blackmails him into becoming his guitar teacher.

Of the films that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, “Share” might have had the most buzz coming out of the event. ReFrame — a coalition of industry leaders founded by Women in Film and the Sundance Institute — and IMDbPro announced on Tuesday nearly two dozen films to be certified for their gender-balanced productions.
Reframe launched the data initiative in an effort to recognize and promote gender-balanced films and television shows. The collaboration relies on data from IMDbPro to analyze films and television series to see how many women were involved in the production, and how much screen time female characters had. To earn the ReFrame Stamp, a film or TV show must meet a handful of requirements that call for women in key roles like starring, directing, producing, and writing. Additional points are awarded for having racial diversity. (The full criteria can be found here.)

Gypsy and The Night Of alumna Poorna Jagannathan is set for a recurring role in the second season of HBO’s Emmy-winning limited series Big Little Lies.
Jagannathan will play Katie Richmond, a new character.
She joins returning cast Nicole Kidman as Celeste Wright, Reese Witherspoon as Madeline Martha Mackenzie, Adam Scott as Ed MacKenzie, Laura Dern as Renata Klein, Shailene Woodley as Jane, Zoë Kravitz as Bonnie Carlson. Previously announced Meryl Streep joins Season 2 as Mary Louise Wright, along with Douglas Smith as Corey Brockfield, along with new series regulars Kathryn Newton, Crystal Fox and Sarah Sokolovic and recurring cast Robin Wiegert and Merrin Dungey.
Per HBO, the subversive, darkly comedic drama Big Little Lies will explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode, and the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.
