Here's something for L.A. based genre filmmakers. From the sounds of it, SellingYourScreenplay.com's event Six-Figure Film Festival and Conference is targetted at filmmakers, giving information, expertise and guidance for low budget and independant filmmaking. Of particular interest to genre filmmakers will be the screenings of Japanese short film Love Shack, feature films Animal Among Us and The Rideshare Killer. The latter was directed by Ashley Scott Meyers who also runs Sys.com and wrote such gems as Snake Outta Compton and Ninja Apocalypse. So if anyone knows how to get no-budget, independant films made it's this guy. More information can be found here. SellingYourScreenplay.com (Sys), is hosting Sys’s Six-Figure Film Festival and Conference, a conference focusing on best practices associated with the writing...

Hank Braxtan, director of Snake Outta Compton and co-writer of Giant Killer Ants is back behind the camera for another giant monster movie, written by Braxtan’s …Ants co-writer Dan Sinclair, this time taking on an all-together more fantastic beast (or beasts) – a killer dragon! Hire a group of mercenaries to go and take out the dragon!

Ron Carlson (Tom Cool) co-wrote the story and the screenplay of Giant Killer Ants with story co-writers Dan Sinclair (Chemical Peel) and Hank Braxtan (Snake Outta Compton), and they created a flashback of 80s comedy horror.
Giant Killer Ants takes a trip down peyote-lane with a 1980s glam rock band who have only had one hit, and they plan to rejuvenate their career by heading to a music festival in the middle of the desert. It isn’t as simple as going out and rocking out though, because they are attacked by, you guessed it, Giant Ants!

It’s a great day in South Central: Cam and his hip-hop crew are all set to sign a record deal that could change their lives. But their jealous friend Vurkel wrecks their plans when he creates a giant, mutant snake that quickly lays waste to the city of Compton, eating everyone in its path. Soon Cam, Pinball, Neon, and Beez Neez cook up a crazy scheme to stop the monstrous, munching menace—blow it away it by pumping up the jams.

To celebrate the home entertainment release of Snake Outta Compton, available on DVD, VOD and Est on 28th January 2019 we have a copy of the DVD up for grabs, courtesy of Altitude Film Entertainment,
Hip-hop meets creature feature in this brilliantly bonkers horror comedy from the makers of Big Ass Spider! and Beyond The Gates.
Snakes On A Plane collides head first with Straight Outta Compton in this wildly funny, gloriously gruesome creature feature parody about a rap group trying to save the city from a giant snake. Director Hank Braxton adds another monster movie to his repertoire, following up his killer polar bear flick Unnatural, starring Django Unchained’s James Remar, this time with a giant mutant serpent slithering round Los Angeles and wreaking hilarious havoc.
As well as being jammed packed with laugh-out-loud gags and wince-inducing gore, Braxton throws in parodies of the films Speed and Training Day,...

You can practically hear the pitch meeting roaring off the screen: “It’s ‘Snakes on a Plane’ meets ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ with a generous dash of ‘Sharknado,’ just for added bite!” Such is the premise and tone of Hank Braxtan’s upcoming “Snake Outta Compton.” From the looks of its first trailer, it appears that that comedy is going to deliver on that promise, no matter if it was a good idea or not.
The film follows a scrappy young rap group on the verge of making it — they’re just days away from signing a major record deal, presumably one that will rocket them into the big time — who unexpectedly run afoul of another Compton resident: a massive mutated snake who will not stop growing after a homespun experiment gone totally awry, and apparently has quite a bad attitude to boot. If you’re going to make a massive mutated snake,...

Snake Outta Compton... after watching this ridiculously bonkers trailer, I'm not really quite sure what to say. You'll just have to experience the trailer for yourself and enjoy the insanity. The crazy thing is, I'm not actually surprised that this movie exists. We've been seeing some really weird shit lately.
The story follows a rap group on the verge of signing their first record deal. Obviously, this rap group is Compton's only hope in a battle against a giant mutating snake monster, that was created by some local Urkel-like teen nerd.
This movie was directed by Hank Braxtan and as you'll see, it spoofs films like Training Day, Snake on a Plane and Straight Outta Compton. The movie looks completely absurd, but there's an audience out there that's going to love it.

Automatic Entertainment have released of the first trailer for their upcoming film, Snake Outta Compton. The movie is a satire of creature features, urban gangster films, and hip hop culture, from director Hank Braxtan (Chemical Peel) and producers the Kondelik Brothers (Airplane vs. Volcano, All Hallows Eve 2)
Snake Outta Compton sees a rap group on the verge of signing their first record deal forced to battle a giant mutating snake monster that’s terrorizing the streets of Compton… And this isnt a film from The Asylum? Colour me shocked!
Said Automatic Entertainment:
Collaborating with Hank Braxtan and the Kondelik brothers to turn Snake Outta Compton from a ridiculous idea into a reality has been remarkable. This talented group of filmmakers are a joy to work with and their creativity exceeded our expectations for what this film could be and we are excited to finally share it.

Hollywood may have hit peak genre mashup with Snake Outta Compton.
Heat Vision is debuting the first trailer for the film, which centers on a rap group about to sign its first big record deal just as a science experiment gone wrong threatens the city of Compton.
A quick look at the trailer reveals a lot going on — there's a little bit of Training Day, Snake on a Plane and Straight Outta Compton — plus a thick-glasses-wearing nerd-turned-monster creator whose style may seem familiar to '90s kids.
Hank Braxtan directs the project, which he wrote with Tim Johnson and brothers James...

Almost a year ago a promo poster appeard at Afm for a spoof movie called Snake Outta Compton. It took a while for the world to catch up and realize, 'No. They're not kidding. They're really making this' so everyone has been keeping an ear to the ground on any developments this past year as the film headed into production. So it has come to Screen Anarchy to share with you the 'official as it gets' poster for Hank Braxtan's Snake Outta Compton. It is a slight variation from the sales poster that appeared at Cannes this past Spring, with more characters from the film added to the bottom. A rap group on the verge of signing their first record deal is the city's...
