Most people said that Season 4 it's where it went downhill. For me, it was Season 5. They went from something new we never seen before to a filler episode. It seems like a waste of time and not many fans see this as the reason why some fans are noticing these flaws and abandoning ship. This show writing has its ups and downs and it really shows it here.

I think that this episode went nowhere.

The interactions between the characthers were good, i felt bad about Steven and Dewey. But, Connie, really? How you can talk like that to Steven who saved you and all the people of this town? That was all out of characther, lastest episodes of Steven Universe were around in circles so i think that Connie will forgive Steven for "all what he did wrong"

Warning: Spoilers
Not only is it a flat filler episode after something actually interesting, but also one of my favorite characters is acting out of character! Connie says that she's upset with Steven because he gave up when realistically there was nothing else he could do. Aquamarine's wand alone was able to freeze Alexandrite in place, and Topaz was strong enough to toss Garnet through an entire wall. Him giving himself up was the most viable option and prevented a bunch of humans from getting captured. Plus he just got back from space and homeworld so I feel like she could show a little bit more sympathy towards him.
I Give Up On This Show!

This show is bad. This episode made me give up too. After Steven comes from home world we get another flat dull episode. This episode has no real point. The claim about this show having no filler but it's just world building (coming from Ian himself) is not correct. We know everyone in Beach City. Just get on with the show.
