In this episode, not for the first time in the series, the King struggles with insomnia. In fact, historically, Louis did not sleep very much at all. At night he was often awake, either visiting one or another of his mistresses, reading, in meetings, or roaming the palace. Nevertheless, no matter where he spent the night, he was always found in his own bed by 8 am, in time for the Grand Levee (rising/dressing ceremony).
