My fav LMN movie so far
Carriexoc22 March 2019
I've watched over 75 LMN movies and this is my #1. It was a thriller, had a love story, great plot, and a happy ending! Great job!

Not a fan of the sexual violence
MIamiReviewer26 October 2021
So here's the thing: Lifetime movies are terrible. And fun. I leave them on during my work-from-home workday as entertainment in the background, because they require low emotional and intellectual investment. They always feature a lead woman, with a support cast. Bad things happen to the woman, but she takes control of the situation and in the end, always prevails without the help of any of her supporting cast.

One thing Lifetime movies never have: Sexual violence. Despite having stalkers and murderers in every movie, the movies just don't go there. And I appreciate that. These are silly romps that are intended to pump you up, and sexual violence would take away from that. And honestly, sexual violence is often the easy, expected thing to include in this kind of script. Ninety-nine percent of tv and movies, when they want to create a dramatic plot involving a woman, just resort to sexual violence against her.

This one has sexual violence and sexual trauma to the lead character. I hate it. It's one of the few Lifetime movies that goes there. Just putting it out there, because people don't often recognize how cool and noteworthy it is that Lifetime typically avoids it.

Kate, The "A" Team, and the Purple Rose
lavatch18 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Kate Riley doesn't realize it, but she is like Dorothy in the Land of Oz. Miss Riley is under assault from a crazed stalker in Portland. She is then surrounded by a group of well-intentioned but bumbling police officers assigned to her. They hover over her like the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion in "The Wizard of Oz". This is The "A" Team, led by Detective Paine, whose members are eager to serve and to protect!

Eventually, Kate meets Jack Marsh, a former cop. Having fled to Green Bluff Wyoming, Kate works in a local watering hole where she first meets Jack. They fall in love by a picturesque waterfall. Kate dreams of possibly living on Jack's ranch. The only thing standing in her way is her stalker.

The man who is always "watching" is a cop named Frank Dower. His mantra with Kate is that he wants to be "noticed." He also leaves a purple rose as his calling card. The feisty Kate is taught some martial arts skills by Detective Paine and The "A" Team. She is preparing for the showdown at high noon!

Kate now has the wherewithal and the support system to finally meet her adversary. The quick-thinking Kate outfoxes Dower during a sit down interview in which she challenges his manhood and thereby extracts a fateful confession from him. She has done battle with the face of evil and is ready to take her place as the cowgirl of Green Bluff, never again to be on the receiving end of a purple rose.

Builds tension like a snowball rolling downhill.
B_Ware9 September 2018
This movie started out seeming to be pretty low-end, but near the middle things began to pick up speed and the suspense and drama built. Add in the romance and it's an all-around Lifetime staple.

I'll be watching this movie crash and burn...
rahur14 October 2018
The first 10 minutes of this movie looked interesting, but then it spiraled out of control. I'd like to know how much they paid some of these people to give this movie raving revues. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.

Pathetic
blanche-26 March 2019
Okay, it's Lifetime - which already tells you all you need to know. So you just want some mindless entertainment. So you watch it. Then you're sorry.

I'll Be Watching is about a young woman, Kate (Janel Parrish) being stalked by a masked man. The police detective on the case, played by Rob Estes, suspects Kate's good buddy Nick might be the stalker. Just one problem - which Kate never mentions. Nick is black, and it's obvious looking at this guy that he's white. So for the first, I don't know, 40 minutes, the detective is sure it's Nick (who, by the way, no one has seen in a while) and she just says, no, it's not Nick. Not no, it's not Nick, because the man who attacked me is white.

Then we get to the really stupid part. The stalker licks her hair, he sucks her cheek, and she never mentions it, so no one tries to get DNA which would have probably told them the identity immediately.

I'll stop there. Awful.

Different in a good way from the usual Lifetime thriller
phd_travel15 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Quite different from the usual psycho thriller like those wrong this and that or perfect something thriller.

PLL's Janel Parrish plays a woman who gets stalked by a cop who starts killing others in her name.

Quite amusingly she gets an entourage of police protection including Rob Estes and Michael Welch. But he strikes again and she runs off to Wyoming and meets a nice rancher and a little Hallmark romance ensues.

Because the killings continue they sat a trap for the psycho. But stay tuned for the interrogation after it's hilarious. The psycho killer is played by a Michael Phelps / Gomer Pyle lookalike.

Worth a watch for the interesting construction and story.

Stupid

This movie was pretty bad. So unrealistic with the cops and some of the shots were atrocious. The acting was fine but overall definitely B-C grade.

Best lifetime movie
Ashley9965-114 September 2018
Lifetime movies are my guilty pleasure and I enjoy every one of them even with some of the ridiculous plot lines, corny lines and horrible acting. This blew away my expectations. The acting was great. It was dark. It was thrilling. All the things I personally love. The only reason I knocked off two stars is I wish that they kept the mystery of who it was a little longer. Maybe even revealing who he was at the end in the bar. That would have made for a good aha moment. I definitely recommend this movie.

Overall, "I'll Be Watching" is a fantastic thriller,
jmwstudios6 August 2018
Overall, I'll Be Watching is a fantastic thriller, sure to unnerve even the most dedicated of Lifetime viewer. But on top of that, the film offers a strong message of female empowerment and has a strong cast that helps deliver that message from both sides of the gender spectrum. I'll Be Watching serves as proof of what Lifetime is capable of and is something I hope they continue to strive for when it comes to their movies.

Score: 10 out of 10 purple roses

EVERYTHING AND MORE
jasslromerogon22 August 2018
Such a great movie, it's basically what most young girls have lived through. So literally everyone can relate having a crush and never telling them. It truly portrays nowadays unlike other movies, you don't have to be the most beautiful to be liked, you just have to be beautiful inside.

Life Changed
josemaex-6778128 October 2018
Good not bad. Love how youtube videos are being adapted into main stream television, especially loved Pewdiepie's cameo as the stalker. Really love how movies nowadays are super creative and totally not based on anything else. Saw this at restaurant and me and my friends' lives were changed. We now choose to live in a remote island off the coast of Argentina. Live with a family of tropical penguins led by a penguin named Kowalski. Very analytical but still chill dudes. Anyway, me and my friend Shaqueesha really liked this movie almost to the extent that we like legendary street poet Drake. Seriously though, this movie sucks. Like a lot.
