Recycled storyline of pimp, prostitute and lover. Average acting by the protagonist. Pimp role well played however.

Underrated Modern Crime Drama

While the plot is not something we haven't seen before, "Slow Country" brings home the true horror of modern day prostitution with perhaps the cruelest pimp ever. It's also a lover story as well as a tale of parental love. The main characters esp. The two main criminal rivals, and the female lead, do a fine job. Do not understand the tepid ratings. This perhaps due to the use of subtitles for some of the dialogue.
