Very weak and unreal story
s-0441620 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The writer tryed to send different messages in a comic environment. The actors act well and deserve more stars but when it comes to advertising an untrue main message mixing with some true messages about situations that iranians have in Iran the movie deserves no star. In the movie you see Mollas and religious people who are muslims and shiea, are trying to show that we like other humans believe in humanity which is untrue. They have set the most cruel and oppressive laws and regulations to restrict iranians, ordinary people, and keep them in a low level of social needs like they are struggling to cover their basic needs. They are the source of spreading fear and cruelty in the society while gathering bilions of dollars for themselves and their children. At the movie u see some messages like why iranins both males and females cannot come to a football stadium, or they need the Internet to communicate with the world, on the other hand, the truth is yes they have received free unternet without any filter for only Mollas while ordinary people have been deprived if having easy access to the world, as an example iranians dont have the access to Telegram or Facebook and it doesnt work in Iran while in the movie u see Mollas can go to facebook website. One the Talabehs (religious students before becomming Mollas) had ruined a guy life while being with his girlfriend in his car on a street which is true in Iran but skillfully shows when this guy immigrates to Germany years later and has become addicted and wants revenge. What was the point? Very weakly was explaining a serious problem the youngs have in Iran and took advanrages the shows the guy got addicted not a usefull guy in German society. The real weak messages about though situation in Iran have been covered by the main message of the movie. Shiah hate Sonni muslims u can easily see this in Iran and Soudi Arabia relations while u see in Germany they pray together and the Molla says we are together while they dint believe in it.

Enjoyed this movie so much

I randomly came across this movie on YouTube while looking for some Iranian movies. Wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I clicked on the thumbnail but I thoroughly enjoyed it and was touched.

The actors nailed it with their performances of religious theological talabehs (students). The movie included humour in addition to an overall nice message. It goes to show one can make a good movie without needing to constantly add nudity or violence. It would of however helped if they subtitled the German parts

A Super Underrated Movie
Jamilshah12122 July 2020
I decided to watch this movie because I am learning Farsi. Looking at the IMDB Rating, I did not have high hopes but as you know that thess rating nowadays mean nothing. This movie contains comedy, emotions, unexplored perspectives and moral lessons. What else do you want? I am amazed at the people who have rated it so low. I recommend this movie to everyone who is looking for a humor and an insight into Irani culture and beauty.

Inspiring movie

Sunnism in Saudi Arabia was mentioned in a comment above, this is an incomplete definition. The religion of the Saudi Arabian state is Wahhabism, that is, radical Salafism, those who support terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda. They are a minority among Sunnis and cannot represent the entire Sunnism. Shiite religious scholars state that all Muslims are brothers in religion, while non-Muslims are brothers in humanity by citing the Qur'an and the letter of Ali bin Abu Talib which was written to Malek Ashtar. Authorities like for example Sistani, Khamenei. As for the movie; I liked it very much. It's a fun, fluid and questioning movie. I think it contains bold criticisms of both Iran and the west. During a trip to the madrasah garden in Tabriz, my fiancee and I were warned not to take photos, too. Despite that, everyone was friendly and welcoming.
