With Jonjo still missing, a decision is made to hold a public meeting, DCI Smilie is tight lipped, but Blake Albrighton tells the press he believes the killings are the work of a serial killer, sending the locals into a panic, and attracting the attention of the world's press. Evie probes mum Annie for information about Doctor Marr, but Annie refuses to tell her anything, prompting Evie to foolishly search his house single handedly. A dogged Annie finally discovers Jonjo, it's evident a serial killer is at work.
It's so difficult to formulate a general review after this episode, as it's so very patchy, great in parts, with some gripping moments of suspense, but then truly dull at times, leaving the viewer with a feeling that it's been stretched out over six weeks, when four would have done. A little wooden in parts, thank goodness for Siobhan Finneran, truly a cut above the rest.
