Good, but annoying ending....
GLArm22 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyable series with good characters. Nice to have a comedy with unusual plot line and older main characters (in their late 70's.) However, I want to comment on the absolutely ridiculous ending. Grace puts her house on the market and it gets sold without her even knowing about it? Give me a break!! When you sell your house, you know when you receive purchase offers and when you agree on one and sign papers. The fact that this apparently comes as a complete surprise to Grace & Frankie is really annoying. Unless Grace had given power of attorney over her financial affairs to someone else -- which seems highly unlikely, given that she is of sound mind and even running a business!!

Some Are Missing the Point Here

Good ending. Not because it makes sense that they go to an old folks home, but as part of a show that binges quite well, and has a nice page-turning quality, it's obviously a sort of device that they need to try getting out of, making the fifth season something to look forward to seeing them both having to deal with, and resolve. Etc.

WHAT THE HECK ?

Warning: Spoilers
What happened here ? What was, an absolutely smash programming hit to a mess of drivel about aging women ? Are you kidding? Please tell me that neither Ms. Tomlin or Ms. Fonda had anything to do with this portrayal of two vibrant and wonderfully engaged 70 + year olds to these dottering old women . The depiction of these two women into such a clliche is an insult to their talent and their lives as two older women who are very much still "with it" and wonderfully productive. Is this their story ? Is this how either of them would want to be depicted in their own lives? I highly doubt it. And the contrast with the male characters is infuriating. The men are both strong and involved in life to its fullest with little or no extraordinary effects. One stars in a full scale production of a musical and the other is a fulltime activist ? And they both have healthy male appetites for sex and food ? No signs of aging or failing memories there for these Lads, uh ? You should be ashamed of yourselves

Grace and Frankie - Retirement village

I love this show and will have a season marathon on the lounge. This episode however has disappointed me immensely. Two strong independent women going into a home! ( Really! What were the writers thinking?) Eileen is there who clearly has early stages of dementia. I was inspired watching this and am now completely turned off. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are great actors. This new storyline takes everything away from them. Put them back in the beach house!!!

Terrible ending to a great series

Overall I give the this show a solid 10 but the ending left something off. With such great writers even a laywoman like myself can think of something better perhaps like Nick looking out of the window implying he bought the house for them.

REALLY?

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with GLarm. Their house getting sold covertly wouldn't happen to these ladies. Moving into assisted living 'just because they were doing it for each other' seems unlikely too. This series is so damn good, having this last episode proved disappointing. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud and this show succeeded. I do sincerely hope that Marta and Howard (?) will continue Grace and Frankie's journey with utmost grace, laughter, emotion, reality, terrific character development, and yes, one season will be the end. But this one just CAN'T BE!

Wait'll Next Year!?!?
Hitchcoc24 February 2019
A couple episodes back in the pre-bathtub events, the two are sitting on a deck in front of that retirement home where their friend (who has some form of dementia) lives. This is so off the track for this series. Considering the "Rat" episode was about as good as it gets, it's as if they went ahead and started Season 5 without much thought. In one way, it wants us to come back; on the other, it's quite a disappointment.

Complete cop out and unimaginative season finale
thespirituk29 December 2018
This was an amazing series about two strong, independent, mature women showing just how life can be even when you reach your 70s. But this episode is completely out of context with the rest of the series. It doesn't even come close to the brilliance of the previoes seasons and episodes. Rather than find ways to take the ladies from strength to strength the writers take the unimaginative route of turning them into a cliché. The shame is, this one episode has now completely put me off watching the next season altogether. Yes, we all know it's all about them getting their regular lives back. But I simply can't be bothered to sit through a predictable string of episodes that we all know where it's going. I thought this show had more creativity than this drivel.
