This episode features the Ice King telling Finn exactly how everything in the land of Ooo changed. The story is mostly done through his flashbacks as he tells the story and boy, am I glad! It turns out that Betty is still around and she's actually going a little crazy because she simply can't bring the Ice King back to his former self. I still say that "Betty" is my favorite episode because of her and we get to see her recreate a place she and Simon used to go to. Here, she decides to simply take a direct approach to getting his memory back. They just try to have a standard date.
It's really quite tragic when she just goes nuts upon failing to help her beloved boyfriend. It's then suggested that she simply take Simon for who he is now as the Ice King. She gets kidnapped by Patience St. Pim (yes, I had to look up that character's name) who uses her a power source. She brainwashed the other elementals into changing the land of Ooo. Sorry if I've been more summarizing than critiquing. I really didn't know these would last the whole week as the story is nowhere near over. ****
