The show is not quite sure what it wants to be. It seems like some of the stuff they do is procedural in nature, having a one-off weekly story and then other times they slowly build toward where they are heading.
I think the problem is the premise for this show is just too absurd. The writing isn't terrible but a bunch of kids finding out their parents are involved in deaths and resurrections is too much.
