Quibi has set its latest two projects in development — a modern take on Paramount’s 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, from Paramount Television, and a vampire drama from writer Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys) and executive produced by David Katzenberg, from 20th Century Fox TV.
Written by Guy Branum (The Mindy Project), the reimagined How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days follows a glib young online columnist and an oversexed advertising executive who both need to prove, once and for all, that they’re capable of being monogamous. They soon discover, however, keeping a relationship is harder than Andie Anderson made it look.
The 2003 film directed by Donald Petrie, starred Kate Hudson as Anderson and Matthew McConaughey.
Further details on the series are yet to be announced.
Branum, creator and host of truTV’s Talk Show the Game Show, was a supervising producer for Comedy Central’s The Other Two.

Wanda Sykes will star in a brand new stand-up comedy special for Netflix, the streaming giant announced Wednesday.
The hour-long special — Sykes’ fifth overall and first with Netflix — will debut globally in 2019. Her production company, Push It Productions, will produce.
The news comes after Sykes had previously been critical of Netflix for not offering her the same kind of money that comedians like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Amy Schumer received from the streamer for their own comedy specials. Both Rock and Chappelle are said to have gotten $20 million per special they released on Netflix, while Schumer renegotiated from $11 million to $13 million.
Fellow comedian Mo’Nique called for a boycott of Netflix in January after she revealed that she was offered $500,000 for her own special. Sykes chimed in on social media to support Mo’Nique, saying, “Netflix offered me less than half of your $500K. I was offended but found another home.

When Comedy Central was developing “The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail,” a TV show based off the weekly standup showcase at Meltdown Comics, co-host Jonah Ray knew that there was only one place the show would work. Any time someone suggested the show could be filmed in a different studio or a larger venue, the response was always the same: They had to do it in Meltdown’s back room.
“We couldn’t take the show to TV, we had to bring TV to the show. The low ceilings, the way the sound was in there, the intimacy of the crowd being right up against the comic and the fact that it was almost this speakeasy idea, people having to go through a comic book shop to get to a comedy show,” Ray told IndieWire. “The idea was to almost treat it as if it were a documentary, showing people...

The heated discussion surrounding “Saturday Night Live” and its inclusion (or lack thereof) of gay cast members rages on, because — of course — Alec Baldwin is Tweeting.
After comedian James Adomian spoke to The Daily Beast regarding his belief that “Saturday Night Live” has an issue when it comes to casting out gay men, “SNL’s” current designated Trump impersonator tweeted a link to the article with the snarky comment, “My dream is to, one day, be as gifted, as brave, as all-knowing as @jamesadomian.”

Baldwin then followed up by suggesting that people “consider the source” in regards to Adomian’s claims, clearly suggesting that his resentment came from a place of bitterness:
Do you think he has a problem with them? Based upon what? The bitter recriminations of those he didn’t hire?...

Out lesbian entertainers Wanda Sykes and Portia de Rossi will lend their voices to a very special episode of Disney Junior’s “Doc McStuffins,” playing two lesbian moms.
GLAAD confirmed the news at a panel titled “Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Trends on TV Today” at the Television Critics Association press tour. Sykes is no stranger to children’s television, having signed on to play a recurring role on “Vampirina,” the newest show from “Doc McStuffins” creator Chris Nee. De Rossi recently voiced a character on the less family-friendly “Family Guy.”
The series follows Dottie “Doc” McStuffins, who wants to be a doctor, just like her mother. Using her magic stethoscope, she is able to bring her toys and stuffed animals to life, and practice her healing skills on their ailments. She gives them check-ups and diagnoses them from her “Big Book of Boo Boos.” Each episode includes original music, and...

Ernest Hemingway. Teddy Roosevelt. Wile E. Coyote. To the list of history’s most legendary hunters, be prepared to add…Moby.
If TV game shows are a reflection of their contestants, then “Talk Show the Game Show” might have reached its early apex. (Well, aside from Tiffany Haddish, of course.) In the exclusive clip below from Wednesday night’s new episode, host Guy Branum gives Moby his most dangerous task yet: hunting his own food. As Branum explains, the electronic musician’s very public vegan-ism presents an opportunity that “Talk Show the Game Show” seemed uniquely qualified to provide.

Marvel at how many rich details this clip manages to pack into 90 seconds. There’s Moby’s diabolical enthusiasm — or blatant disregard of the segment’s judging criteria, depending on how you choose to interpret it.

Real talk: “Talk Show The Game Show” will penalize a guest for murder, but it adheres to strict guidelines for what that means. “If you murder someone during the course of the game, we don’t have to wait for the entire legal process to play out in the state of California,” host and creator Guy Branum said. “[Head judge] Casey Schreiner can just put you in the penalty box for a period of time, possibly even throw you out of the game.
“Though not necessarily,” Branum added. “It depends on the terms of the murder.”
