The only good sci-fi show of this decade: Adds one more interesting episode to the saga
nitish-shete25 May 2018
This show has become very unpredictable, it is digging deeper and deeper into the mysteries of space and also in our own human nature. This episode gives us a necessary time-jump in the narrative after the events with Hybrid-conflict.

It was a great continuation of story and was perfectly paced. Enough surprises to keep you hooked.

Syfy was hasty and short-sighted to cancel this show at third season - it is picking more steam in this season, it is actually surpassing the expectations at each turn. I sincerely hope that Amazon or Neflix picks this one up and gives it a boost it so much deserves.

I am waiting for next episode, keep'em coming guys!!

Fourth Season?
Hitchcoc19 January 2020
This was so much like a new season with new characters and developments moved into the future. It took a while to tune into this but it wasn't long before I remembered what the players were up to. We now have "the ring" which adds an element of mystery. The thing on Venus has manifested itself in the far reaches and those behind fear maybe this thing is really dangerous. We have a couple of new characters who are very threatening, one woman in particular. But I am impressed that they have set up some threats that will have to be handled.

Not the best one, but narrative was very creative

Warning: Spoilers
This episode wasn't full of action and intensity like some of the other best episodes, but it was incredibly creative how they told the story from the point of view of someone essentially and initially so insignificant. We saw the time pass thru the eyes of a spaceship racer, someone who will likely be another idiot to contribute to humanity's doom. The way the narrative is crafted was excellent and of course the acting was incredible...as usual. Love this show.

Now we know
yangban24 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Now we know what the protomolecule was doing, but we still don't know why and the background story of Manolo, the lovesick space jockey heading for the ring is as compelling as his conclusion is disturbing. One mystery ends and is immediately replaced by a new, more terrifying question. Oh... and Miller's back! Wow! What can that mean?

Love this show as I love the novels. It figures that it has been cancelled by SyFy since they always cancel their best awarded shows.
nealvan5577 June 2018
Stargate ran for more than a decade and it was lame. The spin offs were better such as Atlantis, and my personal fav...Universe. It seems that on SyFy if the shadow has that very mediocre actress Amanda Tapping, no matter how lame the show might be, it will last for many years. However, if ANY top rated and award winning shows such as Farscape, Babylon 5, and many others ALL were cancelled over the protests of the millions of fans. Makes as much sense as when the NY Mets baseball team won the World Series in 1986. Then traded away the MVP for the series to another team. It's all about MONEY! Not talent, not excellence, nothing that would actually IMPROVE the quality of TV. Just what costs the least, and has the highest profit margin regardless of how lame the show might be if it's cheap enough. SyFy channel, aka NBC....YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC!!!

A new beginning
anselmdaniel21 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers.

The Expanse's seventh episode of the third season is entitled 'Delta-V'. The episode takes place after the conclusion of the story arc involving Jules Pierre Mao. The episode focuses on a new structure that is created by the protomolecule that arose from Venus.

Delta-V is a hard reset to The Expanse's story lines. There are new characters that are introduced in this episode and the old characters of the Rocinante crew are still connected but have moved onto different things. This episode does an admirable job in creating the new storylines. It also explores more of the ring structure that was introduced in the sixth episode. The episode does feel like more of a filler episode but thankfully this is helped by seeing the characters in a fresh way.

I would recommend the seventh episode of the third season in The Expanse.

Grade: B.

Every show has its bum episode - this is it
rac98767 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is jarring and scrappy compared to most. It's more like the beginning of a new season than the continuation of one. Time has passed since the previous episode and we have to be brought up to date with many developments, so there's a lot to pack in and it's hurried and choppy. On top of that we get some odd character developments, the introduction of an apparently arbitrary and intrusive new storytelling device (the documentary team, though it looks like this is heading somewhere) and some random-feeling new characters being introduced. Overall it's one of those duct tape episodes that exists to join what came before to what will come after, and it's not up to the quality of the rest.

Naomi's accent - ufff
KBomb5929 March 2021
I checked several times that I hadn't somehow accidentally started a new season.

Why is Naomi suddenly talking with a Belter accent? She was a Belter before - a Belter with an English accent. Changing it this late in the game is making me cringe.

Skipped episode?
crazysunta3 November 2019
Come into episode 7, to feel like a skipped an episode 😬 all characters been scattered, new stories, new lines. Feels difficult to understand and reconnect to storyline.

Confused with that ep...
sanchezghp30 May 2018
Too many changes, too many new characters at once. I felt the writers were like "ok, now, what can we do to renew ourselves"? That is a good question to ask, and the series is great otherwise (my favorite, actually), but this time the story felt a bit rushed.

The writers are betraying the reality of the belt
martin-andersson2226 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so a criminal is caught and is about to be spaced. But now suddenly criminals are sent back to Ceres and getting room and board on a prison barge on other peoples expense. In a world where people as a rule sacrifice their own health and lifespans just as the normal order of business, just to stay alive. This in a world where resources are always short, where water, air, space are at a premium. Spare me? This episode was an utter destruction of what had been built over time. Inconsistent, silly and talking down to the audience.

Lengthy excursions into irrelevant characters
whatch-1793122 April 2023
I certainly have to commend The Expanse for creating a show aimed at intelligent viewers. I want to recommend the show for that alone, but it also does it while making an incredibly rich world.

But... while there are ways that that notion tends to slip in this episode a bit with regard to one over powered character, I think the bigger problem is the lengthy distractions into irrelevant backstory and minor characters.

This kid that flies through the ring? Of course somebody will. Who cares about why, that he's a speed racer, etc? To the story from everyone's point of view, this could have been cut to starting five seconds before the kid went through the thing.

This is very similar to the even worse dull flashbacks 100+ years earlier of the invention of the Epstein drive. Who cares if a Martian invented the high speed drive of this show? Mars also has nukes... do we need a flashback to the Manhattan Project? Mars doesn't have a monopoly on this drive.

Intelligent is one thing, lengthy excursions into minutiae isn't the same thing.
