Sex & Nudity

  • A scene in a night club is repeatedly seen, in which there are males and females and females dancing shown only in underwear topless, and some are showing having sex.
  • One scene features Akira having a dream about having sex with Miki. The scene is pretty graphic and Akira soon wakes up and finds a large amount of semen on the ceiling.
  • Sirene is shown to be horny, and walks out onto a high rise building balcony to masturbate. Her hand is seen going into her underwear and her face is seen as she moans and quickly climaxes to the point of turning into a demon.
  • Akira is shown to have sexual urges due to being a Devilman, this includes a scene where he stares at Miki and acts like he's going to rape her, but doesn't.
  • Two high school boys are shown having sex, very graphic.
  • Akira is seen watching a graphic porn video at school. While the porn video isn't as graphic as the actual sex scenes, people are shown to have heard it.
  • There are a few scenes focused on Akira's bulge after becoming a Devilman. A character is seen masturbating while remembering it.
  • The first two episodes are extremely explicit, containing full frontal nudity during the sex scenes, without directly showing penetration.

Violence & Gore

  • Strong fantasy violence includes demons being split in half, mutilated, and spilling green blood.
  • Some scenes of strong stylized violence against humans are seen, such as scenes of decapitation, stabbing, etc. Some gore is visible, sometimes in an excessive amount.
  • Loads of sexual violence, especially in the first episode, as humans transform into Devils while having sexual activities.

Profanity

  • Occasional mild to moderate coarse language ('sh*t', 'goddamn', 'damn', 'hell' 'bitch', 'bastard', 'ass') in the official English dub and subtitles. The word 'motherf*cker' is used twice in episode 8 of the English dub. The word 'f*ck' appears infrequently in the subtitled version and briefly in on-screen text.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some references are made to the possibility/suspicion that characters are 'doping' or using illegal drugs.
  • Characters are seen taking pills in a night club setting that are said to enhance your abilities.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The anime is about a teenager fusing with a demon. He retains his human heart, but his demon form is very demonic looking with blueish-gray fur, thick black fur from the waist down, sharp teeth, completely white eyes, and claws that match his fur. which may frighten viewers.
  • The scene where Akira turns into a demon for the first time is pretty disturbing as he goes from running and crying to growling with a smile on his face before turning into a demon, but DOES NOT harm any of the surviving club members and actually kills the demons, saving any survivors in the process.
  • Some of the devilmen's demon forms are really creepy such as Miko's, which resembles a giant spider and Akira, which bears a slight physical resemblance Chernabog from the 1940 Disney film, Fantasia. However, most devilmen in the series aren't evil and are actually sometimes nicer than some of the humans.

  • Many characters die, which might be very sad for some people.
  • The ending is very depressing as everyone dies and the world gets nuked. Extremely sad and emotional.
