One of the best episodes of Samurai Jack ever
anderswlund-141-25689726 March 2017
Everything about this episode was just perfect. The story was intense and intriguing, promising a great continuation on what we've seen so far. The visuals were astonishing - every scene was an artistic masterpiece, playing masterfully with contrasts, shadows and camera angles. The fight scenes were also superb.

You truly get pulled in to the episode and lose track of time. This is what Samurai Jack is about! Easy 10/10

Samurai and the Wolf

where to start! it is directly connected to the wolf and samurai analogy and the way they executed it perhaps is the most incredible moment in this episode. The Art direction is top notch, it is the best yet for this season and my hats off to the sound effects and soundtrack. It had a great start, the intermediate transition is smooth like the last episode and an ending that makes you eager to see what's next. Overall for me this is the best episode yet. What a show! keeps getting better and better.

He made his choice
ericstevenson26 March 2017
This episode shows the process of Jack healing his sword wound or rather his knife wound. It's just amazing how much more intense this show has gotten with all the detail put into how he literally thrusts it out of his body! He goes to a cave and meets a wolf whom he manages to get some warmth from. As you might have guessed, we address the fact that Jack just literally killed a person and he's once again tormented by visions of himself saying that he won't be able to do it again and will probably just let himself die. The animation is as gorgeous as ever. I think it's a pretty realistic representation of a wound like that.

So Jack confronts the assassins again and gives him a chance to leave or die. He actually does end up literally killing them all. Well, there are some who fall off a cliff that he too falls off. I guess you could argue that if he survived that, so would they. We get to see the unique weapons they have and it never gets the feeling that the job is easier as fewer of them come after him. The best part is probably when they all come behind each other to look like some multi-weaponed enemy. ****

Deep, dark and dangerous.

Warning: Spoilers
Somehow this season has managed to become more engrossing with everything episode right from the mind blowing season opener. The story becomes darker and deeper. Visually it could not be more beautiful and in keeping with the series theme, yet refined and more fluid with the animation. The landscapes are as vast and inspiring but with more detail. It really feels like the story is in full swing with this episode. Jack and the wolf meet after the moving parallel stories from episode 2, as I'm sure we were all hoping and it's perfect. The showdown with daughters of Aku was on point. Jack has an epiphany via his flashback and chooses to create his destiny like a f**king boss, while dropping an epic quote from his father. The choreography of the combat was next level, really stepped up the complexity of the moves from seasons 1 – 4. The human element that exists within the daughters was displayed masterfully, hinting at perhaps future cooperation between Jack and the surviving daughter (hopefully). Seriously enthralled with where this is going. Nothing else on TV come close right now. 10/10.

Darker and even better

Warning: Spoilers
These days, you'll hardly see an animation series that completely blows your mind with its cinematic and choreography. Even then, you'll hardly see those to aspects executed so thoroughly and engagingly. Samurai Jack does that and much, much more. I don't even know how many things I can list to give this show the much needed credit it rightfully earned and deserves.

Take this episode for example. It's deeply and emotionally engaging. Jack's interaction with the white wolf shows us that we don't need words when our actions speak volumes. We see how genuinely disturbed he is for killing someone for the first time; how he finds it in himself to accept it and finally face his attackers head-on. It's all visually stunning, from the contrast of colors to the epic fight scenes.

I've eagerly waited years for this show to come back. I had high expectations when it was scheduled for release. Let me tell you, all my expectations were far exceeded with this beautiful and telling masterpiece. I cannot wait for the next episode. Definitely the best thing to watch this year.

Jack Struggling
shivaniscool23 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Even though Jack hasn't aged for the past 50 years, he does feel pain and would need food and rest. I'm just glad that Jack is alright. Another hallucination of Jack's younger self appears again although this time he was scary and crazy taunting Jack about his first time killing a human and believes that he wants the DAUGHTERS OF AKU to kill him due to not able to stop Aku and get back to the past, but Jack is not giving up. It is nice to see Jack and the wolf(from the second episode) to bond. Later, the flashback was show about Jack's father killing few bandits for trying to kill him and his family and for Jack (when he was a kid was shocked). Before killing them, he told the bandits that they have a choice which was either to leave now and live or stay and face their destiny, however, the bandits nearly attacked which led to him to kill them. Luckily, Jack was calmed down by his father and gave him wise words on what happened that time telling him that the decisions a person make and that actions that come are a reflection of he or she and he or she can't hide that forever. Jack came terms to that and has killed five assassins, with Ashi as the sole survivor. Now, Jack is not cold neither a coward, he is just struggling with his life trying to seek redemption to figure out who he is again.
