  • In an early scene Guy Diamond says he's having a baby and an egg emerges from his hair that then hatches.
  • In the Country Music kingdom, a troll egg hatches and the troll inside is sent to milk some hair.
  • In one scene Cooper defecates a cake piece by piece when scared by some creatures. He then holds it up and says "happy birthday?"
  • Mild romantic tension between Poppy and Branch.
  • In one scene Biggie's pants are ripped and his buttocks can be seen.

  • A little girl tries to bite some of the trolls
  • In an early scene Queen Barb shoots out a red energy wave that cuts a giant structure in half.
  • When Barb gets Poppy's invitation, she goes berserk and smashes several things, even cutting a couch in half with a chainsaw.

  • At least one use of "suck," and a bait-and-switch pun involving "balls" respectively.
  • Hickory remarks "what in buttered biscuits?" when a flying saucer shows up.

  • A barrel and some drinking glasses are seen in the Country Music kingdom.
  • A Smooth Jazz bounty hunter troll's music makes Poppy and Branch hallucinate.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The Rock Trolls destroy Music Kingdoms and turn everybody into "Rock Zombies"
  • Aggressive clip-like editing is stressful for younger kids. Rock trolls are very frightening.
  • Good For Kids. The rock trolls might be frightening to some young viewers.
  • Peppy explains that in the beginning there was peace and harmony but then trolls fought over which music was better so each took their own music and left.
  • Throughout the film Queen Barb destroys troll habitats and captures trolls in order to take their strings.
  • The scene where Poppy realizes Queen Barb is evil can be emotional.
  • The Country Music trolls are seen singing about how they are born to die.
  • A graveyard is seen in the Country Music kingdom. One troll even gets in a coffin.
  • One intolerant Country troll calls pop songs a crime against music as she puts Poppy, Branch, and Biggie in jail.
  • At one point Poppy, Branch, Biggie, and one Country Music troll are forced to jump off a cliff and land in a river. They survive.
  • In one sequence, Mr. Dinkles enters a sort of afterlife but then comes back to life and a god-like character says "welcome home." It is intended as a humorous nod to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" but it still may scare some younger viewers.
  • In the third act the leaders of the Troll kingdoms are captured.
  • A troll falls into lava, but a few scenes later he is visibly alive and okay in the lava.
  • In an early scene Queen Barb shoots out an energy wave that cuts the Techno trolls' building in half in order to scare the Techno trolls into handing over their string.

  • Poppy, Branch, and Biggie discover that the Classical kingdom has been scorched, and a talking flute recounts how the rock trolls decimated it, captured the trolls, and took the string.

Profanity

  • Barb refers to Branch as "boy toy".

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • It is revealed the Pop Music trolls tried to steal all the strings in the past.
  • In the third act, when Queen Barb has all six strings, she shoots out lightning that turns trolls into rock zombies with red eyes that hatch from lava rocks. At one point Branch jumps in front of Poppy, so he will be turned into a rock zombie instead of her.
  • At the climax Poppy tries to destroy Barb's guitar but also destroys all the music strings, and all the trolls lose their color. Then they realize the music is inside them and color is slowly restored.
