Fox’s X-Men series spun into tangled timelines, including Wolverine’s trilogy and Deadpool. These universes will collide in the MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine, uniting Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in a multiverse crossover. Marvel’s piecing together a reboot that could redefine the X-Men. This has got us wondering is Jennifer Lawrence could return.
A Fresh Start for the Mutant Saga
Marvel’s recent power move? Bringing Michael Lesslie on board to pen the script for the reboot. Lesslie, who has The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, is set to lead the charge in reshaping the X-Men narrative for a new era. So ends another comic book movie trilogy, but what is it about the number three that the genre can’t get right? Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and Fox’s original X-Men saga both bowed out on bum notes, while Blade: Trinity staked the franchise dead. Even The Dark Knight Rises is the black sheep of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It’s not that there haven’t been some great threequels, but Venom: The Last Dance is not the exception that proves the rule.
While there were once grand plans for Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, it feels like the Ssu is limping toward an inevitable end, like the Dceu releasing The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom simply because it had to. Although Ruben Fleischer’s Venom got the franchise off to a flying start in 2018, a little bit of our symbiote spirit has broken off with each entry.

Ever since Covid, predicting what a movie will make at the domestic box office has become increasingly difficult. Many expected hits have flopped, while plenty of titles have massively exceeded expectations.
In the case of Venom: The Last Dance, it looks set to fall somewhere in the middle despite Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage being surprise hits in 2018 and 2021, respectively.
Current estimations from Deadline point to a $21 million Friday (including $8.5 million from Thursday previews) for an opening weekend somewhere between $50 million - $55 million. That's a pretty noteworthy drop from those initial $65 million expectations.
In better news for Sony, Venom: The Last Dance is exceeding expectations overseas, in no small part thanks to China.
The trade suggests that the L.A. Dodgers' first battle in 43 years with the New York Yankees in the World Series is a major contributing factor. It's also theorised that Sony Pictures will be looking...

As one of the most iconic “mutants” in X-Men history, Quicksilver has appeared in live-action multiple times, portrayed by two different actors: Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. However, Taylor-Johnson’s version was largely forgettable.
This made ‘WandaVision’s plan to “resurrect” the speedster the perfect opportunity to bring fan-favorite Evan Peters’ Quicksilver into the MCU.
Evan Peters portrayed Quicksilver in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ and ‘Dark Phoenix.’ However, his role in ‘WandaVision’ was more complex.
In ‘WandaVision,’ Peters played Ralph Bohner, a former Westview resident controlled by Agatha Harkness through dark magic. With a magical necklace granting him superhuman speed, Bohner posed as Pietro Maximoff to get close to Wanda and uncover how she created the Hex. During the Battle of Westview, he held Monica Rambeau hostage until she freed him from Harkness’ control.

Being one of the most popular “mutants” in the history of X-Men, Quicksilver appeared in live-action plenty of times played by two separate actors. Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson had the honors, with Taylor-Johnson’s portrayal being quite frankly forgettable.

Joker 2 has officially sapped the fandom of the 2019 movie. Its highly successful predecessor, which had quite the run at the Oscars, meant that director Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix were already sold on the prospect of making the sequel.
Little did they know that their efforts would be so off the mark. The movie has failed to hit its stride. With its dismal ratings and a performance to forget, the Box Office ratings have probably scarred everyone associated with the franchise for life.

With the release of ITV's new crime drama Joan, all eyes are on Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner again. The Emmy nominee plays the titular role in the six-part series, based on Joan Hannington's 2004 memoir I Am What I Am: The True Story of Britain’s Most Notorious Jewel Thief. Ahead of the show's premiere, Turner spoke with The Times about her connection to the part and how being a mother herself changed how she approached her performance.
In the years since Turned finished playing Sansa on Game of Thrones, undoubtedly Turner's biggest role to date, the English actress has appeared in movies like X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Do Revenge, along with series such as The Staircase and Quibi's Survive. Deadpool & Wolverine has emerged as the biggest superhero hit of recent years, achieving remarkable success at the box office and resonating with audiences, effectively breaking the MCU’s recent dry spell.
A significant portion of this success can be attributed to the appearances of iconic Marvel legacy characters. Fans have enjoyed the returns of Wesley Snipes as Blade, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and even some fan-favorite castings like Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Fans were hoping to see more notable characters from the former Fox X-Men franchise return, including Jean Grey, portrayed by both Sophie Turner and Famke Janssen. Although there were rumors of Janssen’s appearance, fans were ultimately disappointed by the absence of both actresses.
Famke Janssen’s portrayal of Jean Grey in the earlier X-Men films set a high standard, leading many fans to form a strong attachment to her version of the character. This resulted in...

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the biggest superhero hit released in the last few years. The movie has seen tremendous success both at the box office and with the audiences, somewhat ending the dry spell that the MCU was caught in.
Much of that success can be owed to cameos of Marvel legacy characters. We’ve seen the likes of Wesley Snipes return as Blade, Garner return as Elektra, and even some favorite fan castings like Channing Tatum’s Gambit.
Fans were however expecting more important characters to reprise their roles from the former Fox’s X-Men franchise, and among them was Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner and Famke Janssen. Ultimately it was rumored that Janssen would appear, but fans were left short regarding both actresses.
Famke Janssen’s portrayal of Jean Grey in the earlier ‘X-Men’ films set a high bar, and many fans had strong attachments to that version.

2025 is set to be a significant year for the Dcu, which is built on the foundations of the former Dceu. Although Creature Commandos will be the first release, both James Gunn and Peter Safran have emphasized that the upcoming Superman movie marks the true beginning of the Dcu.
While details about the plot remain scarce, set leaks and official announcements reveal an impressive cast. Notably, Gunn has “borrowed” several actors from rival Marvel projects.
As a result, we’ve compiled a summary of all the ‘Superman’ actors who have previously appeared in Marvel projects.

Frank Grillo is best known for his role as the villain Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame. The actor has openly admitted that he nearly got fired by Marvel multiple times for leaking information.

2025 will be a huge year for Dcu, a newly established cinematic universe on the remnants of the former Dceu. Despite ‘Creature Commandos’ releasing first, both Gunn and Safran stated in the past that the upcoming ‘Superman’ movie is the true start of the Dcu.
Not much is known about the movie plot-wise, but thanks to the set leaks and official announcements we know that the cast is pretty huge. What’s even better is that Gunn “borrowed” quite a few actors from the rival Marvel projects.
Due to this, we decided to summarize all ‘Superman’ actors that at one point appeared in Marvel projects.

Frank Grillo portrayed a notable villain Crossbones in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ The actor famously stated that he almost got fired by Marvel a lot of times due to constantly leaking information.

The Multiverse Saga is building towards Avengers: Secret Wars. It might make some major stops along the way, including The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Avengers: Doomsday, and possibly even Spider-Man 4, but Secret Wars is the endgame, destined to bring the Marvel Cinematic Universe some of its most game-changing moments yet. That's a certainty.
Fans are already predicting a multiversal war, as the heroes from around the multiverse will likely band together to stop the threat of Doctor Doom, played by none other than MCU legend Robert Downey Jr. Expected to be a variant of Downey's original MCU character Tony Stark, a.k.a. Michael Fassbender’s Magneto is one of the most iconic portrayals of a comic book character for a reason. The actor has done justice to the character in more ways than one, embodying the very essence of his motivations and actions. There are several reasons why audiences love his version as much as they do, however, the most significant is the fact that the actor understands his character the best.

Several interviews can attest to this fact about his portrayal. One such example would be the time Fassbender was asked about his favorite scene of his character from his first film. The actor’s answer showcases exactly why he should revive the role in the new era of the MCU’s Mutant Saga.

X-Men: First Class did an impeccable job of casting the ever-charming James McAvoy as Professor Charles, a younger version of Patrick Stewart’s character. While he proved to be a right fit for the character, McAvoy was not done justice in his final two major appearances as the character. Dark Phoenix had to be one of the worst films, not only among his X-Men films but in his entire filmography.

In recent weeks, former X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo has doubled down on exposing some of the alleged injustices he faced while working at Marvel Studios. Today, he's shared some pretty bold claims about the portrayal of Storm in the Disney+ series.
Much has been said about the character being whitewashed on screen; even Dark Phoenix star Alexandra Shipp has shared her hope for a darker-skinned actress to play Ororo Munroe on screen.
According to DeMayo, "The [X-Men '97] crew and I fought hard to have Storm’s skin tone darker and more accurate to her heritage versus [X-Men: The Animated Series]."
"Marvel noted that if we’re being so accurate about her skin color, then Storm shouldn’t have white hair either," he added. "These sort of micro-aggressive notes are designed to domino backwards to kill the initial idea, as Marvel knows we’re not changing Storm’s hair color.

Through all his appearances, Magneto has been consistently inconsistent. From Ian McKellen putting on the helmet for the very first time in 2000, to Michael Fassbender’s descent into a twisted mentality, his psyche continues to fascinate fans, regardless of the medium he appears in. The complexities in his intentions and motivations are what make him as beloved as he is.

Deadpool & Wolverine has opened the floodgates for mutants and the X-Men in the MCU. While mutants had already been introduced, the X-Men hadn’t been mentioned in any meaningful way until the latest Deadpool movie.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ opened the floodgates for mutants and X-Men in the MCU. Even though mutants were already present in the cinematic universe, X-Men weren’t referenced at all in any serious manner until the release of the latest Deadpool flick.
Professor X technically did debut in the MCU, played by Patrick Stewart in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ but it was a variant that belongs to a different reality altogether and the character was unfortunately killed off by Scarlet Witch.
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is brewing a multiversal mashup of characters from all Marvel live-action properties, at least if the rumors are to be believed, and there’s also that upcoming X-Men live-action reboot we can look forward to.

While Jennifer Lawrence has been under the radar in the recent past, the actress was the ‘it girl’ of Hollywood in the 2010s as she starred in multiple acclaimed films and blockbusters. Gaining global stardom due to her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise. She was also the highest-paid actress in 2014.
In 2013, Lawrence reportedly achieved a rare feat. While she earned critical acclaim for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and won the Oscar for Best Actress, she also headlined the year’s highest-grossing domestic release The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. After a thrilling first season, it looks like X-Men ’97 will be coming back with a bang. Although the animated series only made its way to Disney Plus earlier this year, it has had fans hooked right from the get-go. However, it is not just fans of the show who have lost their collective minds about the upcoming second season. In fact, even Jennifer Hale, who voices Jean Grey, added to the suspense with a cryptic message about what fans can expect from the awaited season.

The first season of the series took the world by storm. However, fans were a little worried that it could end on a cliffhanger like X-Men: The Animated Series. Luckily for them, the confirmation of a second and third season wound up coming rather quickly.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has produced hit after hit and, since 2008, grossed a massive $31 billion at the worldwide box office. However, recent years have seen Marvel Studios battle "superhero fatigue" and critics who no longer unanimously praise their output.
It's true that the MCU hasn't been at its best during the Multiverse Saga, though even the worst movie from this long-running franchise is arguably leaps and bounds ahead of say, Madame Web, or the likes of The Flash and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
That's what makes choosing the "worst" MCU movies so incredibly difficult; none of them have been truly awful, but there are those which, simply put, aren't as good as others. Brace yourselves because they're the movies we're going to focus on in this ranking of the McU's worst big screen offerings.

James McAvoy is no stranger to the psychological thriller genre. The actor surprised fans with his skills playing multiple characters in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split and then reprised his role as the Did-diagnosed Kevin in the sequel, Glass. The actor will be seen in the upcoming thriller Speak No Evil, where he plays a murdering doctor.
McAvoy reportedly based his character, Paddy, off of controversial Internet personality Andrew Tate. The X-Men star mentioned that Paddy had touches of toxic masculinity in him and much of his interactions were based on that ideology. However, he did mention that he was more polite than Tate.

Ryan Reynolds took to social media on Wednesday to champion his Deadpool & Wolverine stunt team, and called on the Academy Awards to add a category to “recognize the amazing work of stunt teams across the industry.”
“Stunt work doesn’t have a category at The Oscars and I hope that’ll change someday. So many films Smashed it this year… Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Chaplin were stunt performers as well as filmmakers. Telling stories with their entire bodies,” wrote Reynolds in an Instagram post alongside photos of him and his stunt crew on set.

James McAvoy’s new horror thriller Speak No Evil is receiving respectable reviews from critics. The film marked the third collaboration between McAvoy and Blumhouse Productions, who produced his previous films Split and Glass. The film is a remake of the critically acclaimed 2022 Danish movie of the same name.

We've been waiting a long time for the debut of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now it's finally happening. Just like the multiple teases that Marvel Studios has made over the past few years, their arrival won't happen right away, but with the success of Deadpool and Wolverine, it's only a matter of time.
There is an X-Men movie in development, with reports claiming it could be a part of Phase Seven (which would place it after the Multiverse Saga concludes), but there is speculation that we could see multiple X-Men characters surface in the MCU before that movie. In fact, it's pretty likely that we will see Jackman's Wolverine back in at least one of the upcoming Avengers movies, with the possibility of other actors from that movie series also returning for a cameo appearance or two.
However, a new report claims that we coud see...

Lionsgate waited as long as possible before lifting The Crow's review embargo. Seeing as it sits at 21% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that calls it "dreary and poorly paced," it's not hard to see why.
Now, though, regular moviegoers are chiming in with their thoughts and...well, they're seemingly no better.
The Crow has been awarded a B- CinemaScore, putting it on par with the likes of Dark Phoenix, Hellboy, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Hulk, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Punisher: War Zone.
In some respects, it feels like the odds have been stacked against The Crow from the beginning. The response to news of a reboot was met with largely negative reactions and the trailer received a surprising amount of scorn, particularly for Bill Skarsgard's appearance as Eric.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, director Rupert Sanders responded to some of the backlash.

HBO's critically acclaimed fantasy series Game of Thrones achieved record viewership for the network and has garnered a vast fanbase worldwide. The series aired from 2011 to 2019 across eight seasons, and during that time, the series and ensemble cast were nominated for numerous awards. Most impressively, the series was nominated for 164 Primetime Emmys, winning 59. This series has propelled many of its cast members into the limelight, but who is the most successful?
Looking at award nominations and wins, Peter Dinklage, who portrayed Tyrion Lannister, led the pack with 40 nominations, of which he won seven. He is the only cast member to receive an Emmy for his role in the series. Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen, closely followed with 29 nominations and four wins.

When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019 in one of the biggest media takeovers of all time, the House of Mouse absorbed its film slate — and promptly had to slog through an endless series of commercial duds.
Movies like “X-Men” spinoffs “Dark Phoenix” and “New Mutants,” Brad Pitt’s astronaut drama “Ad Astra,” buddy comedy “Stuber,” Harrison Ford-led canine adventure “The Call of the Wild” and animated pigeon comedy “Spies in Disguise” were rejected by audiences and sputtered at the box office. Worse, they didn’t exactly instill confidence in the film assets that resulted from the $71.3 billion mega-merger.
“Those Fox titles that were part of the deal but weren’t made by Disney seemed like they were orphaned,” says senior Comscore analyst Paul Dergarabedian. “With any merger, there are going to be growing pains. And this is a slow-moving business.”

Before Disney acquired Fox, the X-Men franchise set the benchmark for large-scale shared universes, a standard that the MCU later refined. The X-Men films were generally successful, with a few missteps, but they were beloved by fans, myself included.
The franchise also innovated by revisiting the past, presenting younger versions of familiar characters, and eventually blending these timelines. While X-Men: Dark Phoenix wasn’t the final film in the franchise, it wrapped up the main storyline on a bittersweet yet hopeful note.
Recently, an alternate ending for the film surfaced online, and we’ve had a chance to view it. This alternative conclusion alters everything and is, without a doubt, one of the saddest endings imaginable for the X-Men saga. Whether it would have been an improvement is up for debate—watch it below and form your own opinion!

Before Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the X-Men franchise set the standards for a large-scale shared narrative universe, which were later upgraded by the MCU. The X-Men movies were – more or less – successful, and despite a few bad outings, the fans really and genuinely loved them. Yours truly is among them.
They also managed to change up the narrative by going back in time, providing us with younger versions of the characters we know, and later even managed to combine them. And while X-Men: Dark Phoenix was not the final X-Men movie, it effectively concluded the main storyline on a bittersweet but optimistic note.
Yet, an alternative ending for the movie surfaced online recently, and we have had a look at it. It changes absolutely everything, and we can confirm that this is one of the saddest endings we could imagine, as far as the X-Men franchise is concerned. Whether...

Considering how the central conflict of the X-Men franchise has always been between Xavier and Magneto, the final ending of X-Men: Dark Phoenix presented a unified conclusion. With James McAvoy’s Professor X reluctantly accepting a chess game with Michael Fassbender’s Magento, the finale showed Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey reentering the atmosphere, after being presumed dead.

However, this resolution stands in contrast to the film’s original plan, which envisioned a much more solitary conclusion. Initially, director Simon Kinberg had intended for the film to end with Professor Charles Xavier alone in the X-Mansion. Thankfully, Kinberg chose to revise this approach which would have otherwise left Marvel fans deeply dissatisfied with the already low-rated movie.
The Original Plans for a More Isolated Ending of X-Men: Dark Phoenix
The X-Men franchise has long been defined by the tension between Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto.

The Fox era of X-Men movies came to an end when Disney acquired Fox – but that acquisition opened the door to the X-Men characters being able to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That merging of worlds has already begun, with cameos from Professor X and Beast in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels, respectively, building up to the multiversal insanity of Deadpool & Wolverine. So now that Deadpool and Wolverine have had a brush with the MCU’s “Sacred Timeline,” we felt this was a good time to rank all of the X-Men universe films from worst to best. Across this mighty canon of films are triumphs of the genre and ones that stand apart from it, and all the way down to some that do the genre and the characters some serious disservice. Which are the best of the best, and which are best left...

X-Men: Apocalypse was one of the worst films to come out of the Fox X-Men Universe. It was a huge downgrade, especially after the critically acclaimed films, X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the film provided fans with one thing that could easily be described as the best so far. Cyclops’ comic-accurate suit in one scene in the film was better than all the previous films.

They’re one of the most beloved Marvel teams, containing some of the most iconic superheroes in history. Yes, we’re talking about the X-Men – that ragtag band of Marvel mutants usually found fighting against humans (or each other) to gain acceptance in a world afraid of their abilities.
Professor X, Wolverine, Cyclops and co. have been stalwarts of the superhero genre ever since they first got the live-action treatment back in 2000 – setting the modern benchmark for what comic-book movie adaptations could be, and putting us on the path towards the age of super-powered cinematic universes we’re in the midst of right now.

It was another downright ridiculous weekend for "Deadpool & Wolverine" at the box office. M. Night Shyamalan's latest thriller "Trap" entered the marketplace with an opening weekend just shy of $16 million, but that wasn't nearly enough to challenge Marvel's latest for the top spot. So, director Shawn Levy's R-rated romp through the multiverse easily held onto the crown, taking in an additional $97 million domestically in its second weekend. More importantly, it now stands alone as the highest-grossing "X-Men" movie ever. Frankly, it's not even close and that gap is only going to widen in the coming weeks.
"Deadpool & Wolverine" has earned $395.5 million domestically through two weekends to go with $428.5 million internationally. That figure includes another stellar $110.5 million from overseas markets this past weekend. The film's running global total stands at $824 million, meaning it has passed 2018's "Deadpool 2" ($786.3 million) to become the biggest "X-Men" movie ever at the box office.

Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine and he's better than ever! The iconic actor returned to the role to introduce the legendary character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool and Wolverine and, man oh man, are fans happy that he did.
The actor first brought Logan to the big screen in 2000's X-Men, which was such a resounding success that it kickstarted a long-running phenomenon of a franchise. Jackman's performance was praised, with many hailing it as the greatest aspect of the Fox film series, and honestly you'd have a hard time arguing against that. He was so popular, in fact, that he even starred in his own spin-off trilogy of Wolverine movies.
His tenure as the character came to an end in 2017's Logan, which provided a thrilling, heartfelt, and emotional conclusion to both Wolverine's arc and the present-day X-Men movies. Or, at least we thought that...

Marvel appears to be readying the production of its X-Men reboot for a shoot in late 2025, with a potential release in 2027.
As Deadpool & Wolverine continues to break assorted box office records, co-star Ryan Reynolds has described the movie as “farewell” to the “fun, weird, uneven and risky world of 20th Century Fox.”
Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, it was inevitable that the X-Men franchise would be rebooted at some point, and it now sounds as though we have a timeframe for that reboot. Production Weekly (as reported by World Of Reel) now has an X-Men movie scheduled to begin filming in “late 2025.”
The appearance of that shoot window emerged roughly around the time that Disney put out an updated version of its release schedule (via Variety), which included a mix of movies previously announced at San Diego Comic-Con and a few unexpected ones – among them ‘Untitled Marvel’ films...

This post contains spoilers for "Deadpool & Wolverine."
The end credits of "Deadpool & Wolverine" feature clips from past "X-Men" movies, set to Green Day's misunderstood break-up song "Good Riddance." Marvel Studios is prepping the merry mutants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so the era of early "X-Men" films is over. But are these movies really worth celebrating?
Look, I like some of the "X-Men" movies on their own terms. "Logan" is a gem; I even think director James Mangold's first mutant rodeo, "The Wolverine," is underrated. "X2" is solid, despite being a much-less complex story than its source material, "God Loves, Man Kills" by Chris Claremont and Brent Anderson. I like the story about Charles (James McAvoy) and Erik (Michael Fassbender) buried inside "X-Men: First Class." And "X-Men: Days of Future Past" has some of the best silver screen superhero action ever.
But as I dive deeper into the comics,...

With “Deadpool and Wolverine” breaking box office records, “X-Men 97” winning over critics and audiences on Disney+ and Marvel Studios on the precipice of a full-blown live-action reboot, everything is coming up “X-Men.”

This versatility was further highlighted by their recent performance as the antagonist Cassandra Nova in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine. Further, in several interviews, Corin has mentioned how they’ve studied the works of James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart’s interpretation of Professor X.

But while the internet might agree with them, James McAvoy, on the other hand, doesn’t and feels it’s a bad AI version of him.

Spoilers for "Deadpool & Wolverine" ahead.
"Deadpool & Wolverine" has advertised itself as a multiverse adventure. It is a movie that bridges the 20th Century Fox "X-Men" movie franchise with the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- not that you need to be a Marvel super-fan to enjoy "Deadpool & Wolverine." Since there's only so many different worlds one can visit in two hours, the film has a montage of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) jumping from universe to universe and meeting many different Wolverines.
One of the Wolverines he finds is in dire straits, crucified on a Saint Andrew's cross in an apocalyptic landscape. X-fans might recognize the image from the cover of "Uncanny X-Men" #251 ("Fever Dream"), drawn by Marc Silvestri and Dan Green.
Marvel Comics
Silvestri is a prolific "X-Men" artist; he drew most of writer Chris Claremont's final stretch on the title during the 1980s, and then "Here Comes Tomorrow,...

When 20th Century Fox decided to reboot the X-Men franchise with a set of movies meant to serve as prequels to the original trilogy, James McAvoy was chosen to take over the role of Professor X from Sir Patrick Stewart.
With Cassandra Nova (Charles Xavier's twin sister) serving as Deadpool & Wolverine's villain, many fans had speculated that a Variant of the Professor could appear in some capacity, particularly as trailers showed her using Chuck's wheelchair.
While the X-Men leader was referenced, he never appeared in the threequel and McAvoy confirmed at Comic-Con he wasn't asked.
"I knew I was going to be in the credits. I demanded. [Laughs] No," he said of that emotional tribute to 20th Century Fox's Marvel movies. As for that possible Professor X cameo, McAvoy added, "No, no, no, no. Not this one. I don’t think so. If there was a world, they clearly...
