Barbie Castro looks TOO old for this role and she CANNOT Act
Vienna2618 April 2021
Interesting concept for a movie but bad casting just ruined it for me. Barbie Castro cannot act. Ive seen her in a few of these lifetime-type movies and all of them she's horrible at acting whatever role she was given. Also she often tries to act in these roles clearly made for younger people but she looks so old so its weird to see. Like in this movie her husband looks SIGNIFICANTLY younger than her yet I think they're supposed to be seen as a fresh young couple. She just doesn't suit the role because she looks really old (especially in her face) and the role seems to be made for someone younger. Its really cringe to see someone try to act like a young adult or someone in their 20s or early 30s when she looks like she's 40 or LATE 30s at best. If someone younger and better at acting was put to cast her role in this film then I think I'd probably give it a 5. She needs to just stick with producing and stop acting in my opinion. Or at least realize how old she looks and stop trying to fit into these young roles she doesn't suit. I think the actress who played Kelsey should have taken the lead role on this movie instead, she suits it better.

The Scenery Was The Best Part !
carolynocean1 September 2021
If this movie had been shot in a less attractive location , I would not have stayed with it. It was so boring , just like Barbie Castro , probably a very nice person , but as an actor ? Sorry but she is really boring and monotone There was'nt much of a mystery here either , not much to figure out in the end. And, most of the characters were so unlikeabe, except for the bar owner. I got the impression that they all decided to go to a really beautiful island on holiday , and thought " Hey , lets make a movie while we are here " , like an after thought ........... But, as I said , the scenery was georgous !

Have you ever wondered what kind of movie gets rejected from Lifetime?
joefishel25 May 2018
If you have ever wondered what type of movie gets rejected from the Lifetime Movie Network, Killer Island is it. At times, Killer Island has unintentionally funny moments. It is never a good sign when a moment in a movie is meant to be suspenseful and, instead, you laugh at it. For example, how can a man who is driving a golf cart not catch a middle-aged woman running on foot who is obviously not very fast? Another question I have is how can anyone who calls themselves a film critic give this movie a great or even good review? The movie is a cable network reject and probably won't make most film festivals unless someone in the production has connections to the organizers. Killer Island is not a terrible movie, but it is far from being really good in most aspects of filmmaking. It did not feel as if I wasted my time watching it because it does have some redeeming qualities, such as the Florida scenery, which is the best part of the film. But, it did feel as if I wasted the few bucks I paid to watch it online, though the unintentional laughs did make me feel better. Laughter, whether it is intentional or not, really is the best medicine. I can recommend watching this film if you can do so for free, have nothing else to do on a cold winter's evening since the Florida sun in it will warm your being, and/or really like Lifetime-type flicks, but don't waste your money on it.

Low budget
ingamazonaite11 July 2021
Low budget movie with no professional actors.

The main actress is full of botox and fillers, which makes her look old. She pretends to be young and it's fail.

Well, movie not a masterpiece definitely.

Not recommend.

Boring
ladymidath22 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I usually like these kind of movies, easy to watch mysteries with an attractive cast, but to be honest, I ended up turning it off. It was all so obvious and the acting was dull and the plot really uninteresting. I ended up turning it off. It was going nowhere. Don't bother.

A good whodunnit even when you already know. Acting not at all bad, ditto script. Worth watching but probably won't get any awards

Loved it!

Barbie Castro did it again! Fantastic movie! Loved the storyline, the actors, and the setting on Captiva Island! If you love murder mysteries/suspense then this is one movie you don't want to miss! I've watched all of Barbie Castro's movies and she's one heck of a writer, producer, and actress!

If you love soap operas you'll see a couple of them in her movies. This one had Jordi Vilasuso & Brian Patrick Clark!

Very exciting!

Not sure about the poor reviews but I honestly have to say if you stay with this one, it's awesome! I enjoyed it, especially the last half, the many twists towards the ending. I was really into it. Loved the characters, all the charming deceit. Liked the main character as well. Glad I gave it a chance. I was thoroughly entertained.
