- Zoe Woods: It's funny because um like most of my life my brain was this like perfect red little apple. You know I was like pretty smart, but um... it's... it's actually when I turned twenty six that uh it was like this, just like, like a thing... It had been hibernating and it woke up and um it started to slowly eat it's way to the surface, they call it um insidious onset, it's it's um... it's the beginning of the end of you.
- Zoe Woods: Okay, I get it! I get it. You're the same age I was. You're the same age mom was.
- Alice Woods: That is not what this is about.
- Zoe Woods: Your worst fear is that you're going to become me, isn't it?
- Alice Woods: That is not true.
- Zoe Woods: Well guess what, Alice. There is nothing you can do about it. It's either apart of you or it's not. And if you can't come to terms with that, it's going to eat you alive.
- Alice Woods: Hey Nathan! Nathan! I think there's something inside the wall.
- Nathan: What?
- Alice Woods: There's something inside the wall.
- Zoe Woods: [Referring to the joint in Louise's hand] Are you going to let me hit that?
- Louise Lispector: You know, you're sister said you were clean.
- Zoe Woods: Yeah, I don't like to stress her out.
- Louise Lispector: [Hands the joint to Zoe] Okay, fair enough.
- Alice Woods: So what is all of this, anyway?
- Louise Lispector: It's my book about what happens in Butcher's Block.
- Alice Woods: What does happen in Butcher's Block?
- Louise Lispector: People go missing.
