New York based actor, producer, filmmaker and former Capetonian – Stelio Savante – has joined thousands of South Africans in celebrating the South African Supreme Court’s ruling on citizenship. The court summary declared that it was constitutionally invalid for South Africans to lose their citizenship when acquiring those from other nations. The ruling comes after the Democratic Alliance (Da) appealed a high court order that originally dismissed the party’s application that the legislation was inconsistent with the South African constitution. However this new ruling reinstated Sa citizenship for all those who lost it.

Savante – who has 135 international credits to his name – described the elation that he and other South Africans were experiencing – “I gratefully wake to celebrate with the tens of thousands of fellow South Africans who’d unnecessarily and inadvertently been deprived of their citizenship courtesy of a flawed and contradictory law that violated international human rights.

It’s usually quite nice if a person can retire and find a quiet spot in the country or elsewhere, somewhere that is quaint and doesn’t have a huge population. But it’s easy to forget that once one person finds this type of place, many others are bound to follow since humans are social creatures that feel the need to gather in crowds in areas they find appealing. Harry March finds this out in Angry Neighbors as the retired author soon finds the tranquil nature of his home disturbed when a millionaire moves in across the way and decides to

With Destination Marfa now on DVD and digital services, I had the opportunity to catch up with producer and co-star Stelio Savante to learn about how he got involved with the film, his favorite on set memories, working with Tony Todd, and more!
How did you get involved with Destination Marfa as a producer and one of the film's co-stars?
The project kept coming across my radar where it no longer felt coincidental. Often these projects and roles serendipitously chase you. It literally felt like a case of pronoia to me. So I reached out to Andy, we had a solid initial conversation and he sent me the script. At that point the hitchhiker role (Vincent) was still up for being retold and it fell into place very naturally. As a producer, I wanted to help Andy’s vision become fully realized and I reached out and brought in a...

Exclusive: Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale are set as the leads in The Watcher, a Netflix limited series from Ryan Murphy and his frequent collaborator Ian Brennan.
No one would comment, but I hear The Watcher follows a married couple whose move into their dream home is being threatened by terrifying letters from a stalker, signed “The Watcher.”
This marks a reunion for Watts and Cannavale, who star together in the upcoming movie Once Upon a Time in Staten Island.
Executive producing with Murphy and Brennan are Eric Newman (Narcos), Bryan Unkeless as well as Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish). Filming is set to begin in the fall.
The series, which evokes the first season of Murphy’s hit American Horror Story, is inspired by the infamous “Watcher” house in New Jersey. A couple bought the 1905 Dutch colonial revival in 2014 for nearly $1.4 million. They were forced to...

Over the course of his long career, Cheech Marin has toked up with Tommy Chong in umpteenth Cheech & Chong movies, hung out on the driving range with Kevin Costner in “Tin Cup” and rode shotgun with Don Johnson on “Nash Bridges.” But he’s never taken on a role quite like the one he’ll be playing in “Lapham Rising.” The actor will be lending his distinctive voice to role of Hector, a born-again evangelical and unapologetic capitalist talking dog. In case you’re wondering about his breed, he’s a Westy.
Marin joins a distinguished cast, which includes such heavyweights as Frank Langella, Stockard Channing, Bobby Cannavale, Ashley Benson, Katie Parker, Stelio Savante and Jared Gilman
Marin completed his voice work for the role recently in Santa Barbara. With its story set in the Hamptons, the film completed live-action principal photography on location in Minnesota before the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown went into effect.
