More real than a lot of pretentious movies of this genres

Not great cinematography, not a very original plot, but a real one, and reality hits hard and don't look pretty. I must admit that this film worked for me. I loved the moments of confusion and madness through out the film and the pace, shooting and storytelling unfolded effortlessly for such a kind of film ( real-time action ) I sat down to watch it with very few expectations and I liked the docu/film approach, considering it is based on the main character's real life events.

Terrible
ducatipower-9084929 December 2019
Very bad acting at times cheesy as if a group of freinds got together to film on their smartphone.

The main actor Has no charisma or any purpose and looks terrible physically not convincing as a goon more like a dish washer restaurant worker.

Albanian criminals don't act like that they are a lot quieter and way more organised as they work with everyone as money sees no colour.

They have to keep a low profile most of the times as there is a big risk of deportation if caught.

Whoever is the Director /producer hasn't done his/ her homework to have any understanding of their world just assumed things.

Still watching

I had to Google whether it was a documentary or a movie. I'm still watching it..it hasn't held my interest that much but I'll give it a chance. Someone said the main character "Vinny?" Doesn't look or act like an Albanian gangster because he's loud etc.. supposedly Albanian gangsters don't act like the one's in this movie.. what they forgot is these guys are New Yorker's first and that's EXACTLY how New York gangsters act. They're angry, loud, easily triggered, obnoxious and VERY disrespectful of most women except their Mother's. It says I don't have enough characters to post my comment sooo.. maybe this is enough now.

Raw, unique and full of surprise

I have heard stories about the Albanian mob in NY for years. This film is a dark little window into the hidden subculture. Super interesting and beautifully made. I really loved it.

Authenticity
uscitizenrights7 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
One of the great beauties of this film is the authenticity of the people in it. Many of the actors show marks of lived hardship, struggle, and endurance. They are portraying roles informed by their own personal struggles fraught with unrealistic expectations and insurmountable individual and external challenges. The film's story helps to show that crime does not pay. It is not a film that glorifies being a gangster, the impossible success story that Hollywood might pretend exists, but portrays more a snapshot of an immigrant thug from a complicated Albanian culture and history facing the humble realities and disappointments of becoming a middle-aged small-time has-been, and the resentments and anger that might arise when unrealistic expectations for power and success go unfulfilled while walking down a path of destruction.
