Disturbing on many levels.
rebekahrox29 January 2021
This movie made no sense. Why would a beautiful surgeon be with a guy (cant call him a man) who was a slob, had no job, and was obsessed with a silly 80s sitcom? and when she finally dumped his lazy a$$, she couldn't let him go. Instead of thanking her lucky stars she tried to bust up his wedding to his sweet fiancé who was just as weird as he was and just as fixated on the same tv show. Meanwhile dissing the great new guy that was interested in her. She truly was a horrible person. It started off promising but just got way off track.

only one reason to watch this farce

Thomas Beaudoin....

Never seen the lead actress and hopefully won't again. The entire movie was a waste of time.. Most of the movie she just rambled on and on.

Unbearable "background" sound!
Australian16 September 2017
Do directors have any sense? Are they employing teenagers to do the background sounds? This is NOT a Walt Disney Animation where one needs sounds because no one actually speaks in the movie! I felt like I was watching Fantasia! I can hardly make out the voices of the actors due to the racket of the sound track which really should be faint and in the background! This feature is pretty bad, but it's not the only movie which has overbearing background "music"! When one watches movies made in the 50s, 60s, 70s even 80s at least we can hear the spoken words! Now if not for the "realistic" traffic noises in a street/outdoor scene where there is indistinguishable dialogue, the majority of the presentation is drowned in excessively loud music! OK, I am not a young kid with perfect hearing, but I am not deaf! As for the movie, very predictable.

There is no excuse for this.
jmwp-6827121 February 2021
Thomas Beaudoin is hotter than the gates of hell and also blazes equally with pure charisma. He is proficient at radiating decency and simple humanity, in quiet, compelling ways. That's why a movie where a lead female rejects Thomas Beaudoin, choosing instead to literally chase after her ex (a witless, TV-obsessed wad of damp Cheeto dust who treated her like an afterthought for ten years) is a movie outside the limits of human understanding. The lead character is alleged to be a doctor, but comes off like an escaped mental patient masquerading as a doctor. The actress has obviously been directed to dial the "clumsy but endearing romcom girl" routine up to nuclear-maximum; thus, when she is not "stumbling" over her suitcase and knocking over plants (the actress fake-stumbles with determination, aiming for the plant), she over-widens her eyes to such a degree that they seem to freeze in that position, just as your mother always warned would happen when you made extremely grotesque faces. Each and every one of the supporting roles is played with relentless, caffeinated mugging in lieu of acting. All the while, Beaudoin is standing around looking and acting like an actual human being (albeit the best looking one of all), radically out of place in this braying freak show. GET THIS MAN BACK IN A QUALITY ROMCOM. Someone needs to answer for this.

Off-Kilter and Laughable (both ways)
musicalfreakgurl7 September 2017
I knew immediately when I heard the lead female begin her speech, that this movie was going to be hilarious. Since this was a lifetime/abc familyish movie, I didn't have much hope that it was going to be great. But what it lacked in script and some dialogue it made up for in slapstick humor. Some may get it others may not.

The acting was sub-par in a lot of places but good in others. What it got wrong made all the things it got right stand out more. The cast, for what they were did their jobs. The script, well it could have been better. The dialogue was the funniest part for me. Maybe I have a different sense of humor than most but this movie is right up there with the campy fun movies who poke fun at romance.

Take it for what it is, not what it wasn't.

6/10 for me.

A silly hallmark comedy, I loved it.
lydiajp10 September 2019
I except and enjoy hallmark movies so the short comings of this movie were not a problem for me. If you're in the mood for funny Hallmark movie you will enjoy this movie. I could relate to the characters in so many ways it kept my attention from beginning to end. Hallmark movies writings are never perfect as in this one. The plot had some realistic issues I believe that are worth watching. I think the actors in this movie did a great job for what they had to work with. It's a fun movie and the lead actor is hottie.

The Scariest Rom-Com I Have Ever Seen. No, Seriously.
olympicator8 July 2020
This movie was never meant to be taken seriously. It was very silly. So are movies like "Airplane" and "UHF." But those films did not make me cringe, the way this one did.

I have no idea what any of the characters was thinking in the course of this story. What did Chloe see in Eric? How could a doctor be so clueless? What did Eric do for a living? What did Alyssa do for a living, for that matter? Is Chloe the first attractive and (semi)intelligent person whom Hunter ever met? Hunter is the manager of a HOTEL - wouldn't he meet a lot of attractive women? How did it take two people ten years to realize they were not right for each other? Why did Hunter continue to like Chloe, when it was clear that she did not know how to "use her powers for good?" Did Eric's mother did have some kind of medical condition? I don't mean to sound rude - I have a brother with a disability - but everything that came out of the mother's mouth sounded like an aging drag queen trying to channel Ed Wynn's Mad Hatter.

I just don't understand how this ever sounded like a "movie" to anyone, cast or crew or producers or even the janitors, during production. This movie made no sense, and it was not funny. It was painful. Does it amuse an audience to watch characters make really stupid decisions over and over again? Was this supposed to be a satire, on the way some people will get obsessed over a product (in this case, a TV sitcom), and they just let it guide them through life like a book of philosophy? This brings to mind the 1998 movie "Pleasantville," which actually poked a lot of fun at sitcoms and ended up critiquing sitcom-culture a lot, while simultaneously admitting that sitcoms do have their charm.

I just don't know. This movie baffled me with a persistent idiocy that never quite became aware of itself. I did laugh out loud, once, toward the end when Chloe was sobbing over the lesson she had finally learned - but it was the wrong lesson! You're supposed to let go of the things that don't help you in life, not cherish them! Set goals in your life, not settle for other people's standards when their standards mean nothing to you!

I guess the point of this movie is that different people enjoy different things. People grow up, and they surprise you with how they develop. We don't always *know* the people we think we know. And just because a person changes, that doesn't mean you can't still be friends with him. But these characters were shallow, shortsighted, irresponsible - I don't know if I could trust any of these people to do so much as fix me a drink! Yet one of them is a published author, one of them is a hotel manager, and one of them is a practicing physician. Was this movie trying to blackmail the publishing industry, the hotel business, and the American Medical Association, all at once?

I genuinely feel frantic as I write this review. I like movies. I just don't understand why this movie got made. It had no chemistry, no logic, no turning point, no cleverness, no surprises, no substance. I did not believe that these were real people. I have trouble believing that the producers of this film were real people. And I am sorry that I am being so scathing here, but I am frightened. This movie undermined my grip on basic human reason. It did not offend me, but it dragged me so far away from reality that I'm not sure where I am anymore. "Howl's Moving Castle" is more firmly based in the real world. "Dark City" disturbed me less, because it knew the difference between optimism and pessimism. This movie terrified me. I never knew a happy-go-lucky romantic comedy could be so distorted, surreal, and manipulative.

Light-hearted romcom.
ian-86410 April 2021
I'm a little shocked at how seriously people are taking a Hallmark movie. Lighten up people! This is supposed to be an easy to watch family romcom. It's not supposed to be Schindler's List. April Bowlby is fun to watch as always and I have actually visited The Wigwam resort in Phoenix, so that was a fun bit of nostalgia.

Horrible. Waste of time. How could these people get a chance to make movie
hoomanfarahpour16 September 2017
There is was waist of time ? The 2 hours not just I don't get back it was annoying, not funny. Horrible. Horrible acting and the director was even worst. How in earth these people get to make movie in this level. There are so many talented actors and actresses out there with so many great screen writers that never get a chance then we see people like in this movie waiting the others spot and our time and money. I would zero to actors and director

OK Hallmark romance
j-bush-642-90361913 June 2020
As with all the Hallmark romance movies you just have to relax and enjoy some mindless fun. The acting and directing are on par with this genre. If you were expecting GoneWithTheWind or Read Window forget it. Pleasant characters an a nice of story. The other review said it was terrible and it is not.

The movie's quite predictable, the acting could of been better. Absolute waste of time watching the movie, it's cliche really. The exaggerated emotions, really annoying.

Silly -Qwercky- Entertainment
debejere18 April 2019
This movie was just simply a movie to entertain. I cannot believe a girl who is a doctor could possibly be that empty between the ears. No. Wait - I'm sure there are. Silly entertainment, nothing more - nothing less. The writers and directors need to think again when they cast parts. I am a huge fan of Thomas Beaudoin. He is an amazing actor. He brings you to the point you truly believe his character. That's a great actor.i give him 8 stars. The rest maybe 4. What a shame and waste of great actors. A bit too much nonsense acting in this show. I mean really... REALLY! Why don't they use him so much more! There are a few actors that are just overused.

This movie was awful and I usually don't mind awful
kinxeli15 January 2022
For the most part I enjoy cheesy movies this one though, just hit wrong on every beat. The story, acting, chemistry, directing, and production was just.. terrible. I couldn't find a redeeming moment to justify the hour and a half I wasted... I've seen some of these actors in other movies and they were fine so just have to assume the script and directing just didn't get them there.

Losers
Jackbv1232 January 2022
I usually take exception to reviews that say something like "worst movie ever". Since I've reviewed several hundred movies, I can't possibly pick one for all time, but this one is up there and certainly the worst in a while.

Every main character except Hunter was a total loser. Chloe leads the way. She is self-absorbed, whiney, wimpy and indecisive. I can't imagine how a full-fledged medical doctor could have stayed with Eric for 10 years. Actually reverse that. I can't see how she could have become a doctor. I wouldn't want her for mine. Since the pattern is so deeply ingrained, I can't imagine she could ever truly become likeable girlfriend material. So I say, "Run Hunter, run." Eric and Aylssa belong in an institution. Paige had good intentions, but she had to have seen what was coming and only helped it happen.

Yes, this is comedy. It's supposed to be funny, but I, like another reviewer, couldn't find anything to laugh at. If you like comedy based on people doing stupid and embarrassing things, then maybe this is OK. But I don't see how you can make a romance work with this group of characters.

When the protagonist discovered that her ex was at the resort for his wedding, the responsible thing for her to do would have been to leave ASAP.

Milkshake Mishap Murders Movie Warning: Spoilers
While i'm sure there are many small quirks, not to mention the overall disturbing low quality of this "film", one thing stands out among the rest. There's a scene where the female character is talking to her ex (typical of a plot that could have been thought up in the time it takes to cook a piece of toast) and she buys him what looks like an amazing chocolate milkshake. The ex then leaves to pursue his jealous motives, and him and the main character abandon the milkshake WITHOUT FINISHING!!! What kind of a person doesn't even finish a perfectly good milkshake after paying for it? And this woman is in between jobs can she really afford to be throwing around her money on what was probably an expensive milkshake??

This was a sweet and fun romantic comedy
amberbundick31 March 2020
People are so harsh on movies. This was meant to be lighthearted and fun! It's a classic hallmark/lifetime romantic comedy. It made me feel good and it had the sweetest moments. I absolutely love April Bowlby and anything she's in. Go in with a light heart and just enjoy the cuteness. If you are expecting something oscar worthy, this is not what you should be watching. If you want a feel good movie, then this one is for you!

Don't kill 2 hours of your life! Don't watch!
tthylayia16 November 2023
I am really Sorry. I never write a bad review for a movie. Never. And if it turns out that I just hate the movie, I will simply not write a review at all. However, this is without a doubt the worst movie I have seen in a long, long while. It brings back memories of those awful 80s shows. Even so, there are A couple of the actors which are actually quite good and may have a chance if they are careful not to ever accept another role such as this one. Seeing this movie was a last resort! It is not anything it was originally advertised to be. Romantic.... NOT, A Comedy.... NOT, Cheerful.... NOT, Heartwarming.... NOT.

good watch
jewelch18 February 2021
This movie was very quirky! Jessie Hutch was really good in it. It is the story of a male and female who meet, fall in love and maintain a relationship for 10 years. The female character, now a Doctor, was not completely happy or fulfilled so she broke off the relationship. 6 months later she finds out her former love is getting married. He has learned to move on, she has not. She takes a vacation with a lady she operated on who had become a good friend. They wind up at the same resort as her former boyfriend and there hijinks begin. She is pitiful at times as she struggles to let go and accept a new life beyond former boyfriend. I did like the movie it just had really uncomfortable scenes at times. It is relatively clean and a few scenes with a new guy were really sweet. I say enjoy! :) James Welch Henderson, Arkansas 2/18/2021

Kind of cute, kind of absurd
conniewarner4 August 2021
Kind of cute because it's a romance with some nice moments and at the same time, kind of absurd and not believable. Sometimes so absurd that it's funny. I enjoyed it for what it is, but then again, I prefer rom-coms.

Like the actors but the story is trash
kategobe29 December 2022
I generally like most made-for-tv romance movies, even if the storyline comes off a conveyor belt; they're heartwarming, cute, and light to digest. However, this movie has such an immature feel to it and such a terrible plot that even I can't stomach it. I did finish it, although I kept checking when it would be over, but it was a total cringe fest.

The actors are good, all of my 4 stars are solely for them. Especially Thomas Beaudoin, he's believable as an actor, he walks that line of acting with conviction but not over-acting really well, not to mention he's very easy on the eyes.

The storyline was just pure trash though. I kept hoping it would get better but it never really did. The whole plot just comes across as a fanfiction spinoff from an amateur writer-superfan from some internet fansite that somehow made its way into a movie, unfortunately. I'm actually rather surprised the story doesn't come from a middle schooler's secret notebook.

Trust me, even high school drama flicks are way better than this.

Finally, a romance comedy that was actually cute and funny!
sm-3072419 February 2021
Most rom-com's are too serious. Too light on real comedy. This is the first time I've seen Alix Angelis. Her expressions and comedic skills really make this movie. The plotline is very funny if you don't expect this movie to be something it's not.

The dynamics and story helped me process my own story.
wodnika1 May 2022
Hello, this is a great movie if you are watching it to help you process the emotions and feelings of getting dumped or dumping your bf because he was actually like a beta lazy male, and then next thing you know he is engaged to the next chick he meets. You did all the prep work and all he needed was a woman to unlock his alpha potential. This happened to me, the dynamics in this film were almost exactly to the tee similar to my story and it helped me process the emotions after I saw my ex of 6 years get engaged so quickly. I realized that my ex kept wanting me to be just like his mom, blonde and business oriented. I am a brunette, and I am more arts and communication focused. It was never going to workout. I just wasted six years on a relationship because I didn't want to see things that were hard to accept, but now I see and accept it. I need someone who wants to love me for me. I hope it helps you too. Thank you for making this movie.
