Stars Meredith Stepien and Lauren Lopez had been long-time fan favorites and the Lang Brothers (who do the primary writing for the Team Starkid shows) decided to write a show featuring them both. In particular, Stepien was offered two ideas for a show that she's get to contribute to on the writing end. They gave her two options: A "caveman show" and a show about fairies.
