What werewolves?
sandvink1 April 2018
I was hoping for some werewolve action. Unfortunately by the time you see any the movie is almost over. Also the action is not really there. I am a B-movielover. I can easily take poor effects and see the humor in it. This movie doesn't. It steals lines from 'full metal jacket' and changes them in some words. It steals from 'Inglorious basterds'. If you see fat concentrationcampvictims, roadblocks that you can drive around at but don't do, english with a bad german accent, german with a lot of words spoken wrong and macho men then you know it is better to spend you time and money on something else.

An HONEST review
ensorgiles20 December 2017
This is one of the worst movies of all time, and I use the word 'movie' generously here. And before I continue I would like to point out that I am a huge fan of the Asylum movies so I am no film snob.

I'll only talk about the first 20 mins of the film because if I write any more, I will lose the will to live.

So what happens in the first 20 mins? Absolutely nothing! No, I mean it. Nothing. Sure there are a couple of scenes but there is absolutely no point to them. We get to learn that some prisoners (more later) are going to have drugs tested on them and that's it. 30 seconds of 'important stuff' in 20 mins.

My most enjoyable bit? Overweight concentration camp prisoners. I don't think the makers of the movie studied WWII history.

The makers don't seem to know anything about Jews either since the biggest, fattest prisoner has a huge tattoo on his chest. It is pretty common knowledge that Judaism still frowns on tattoos and 70-odd years ago things would have been much stricter.

Second favourite bit? The actor chosen to play Hitler - the only prerequisite being the ability to put on a moustache as far as I could see. I look more like Hitler and I'm 6 foot, balding, and fat.

I would like to suggest watching it for the comedy value but Sharknado 5 this ain't. It is not even funny bad. It's just bad.

Rather than spend 1 hour and 34 mins watching this 'movie', I would suggest that members of IMDb use the time more wisely. I won't give any suggestions. Literally ANYTHING would be time spent more wisely.

This movie is very close to complete garbage
allen-roulston21 December 2017
Very low production value all the way around. Poor acting. Poor set locations. Poor props. Poor special effects. Most important of all, wretched story.

In my opinion there are many elements of this movie lifted from Inglourious Basterds. Sadly, they are poorly executed.

If you enjoy watching horrible movies and making fun of them with friends, this movie will provide plenty to critique.

Dirt poor rip off of Inglourious Basterds.
lordforbes7 January 2018
This is what happens, when fanboys a try to make films. It's not the tiny budget or the terrible accents that make this film awful. It's the obscene directorial hubris in attempting to ape Tarantino's mastery of the long tense slow-build scene.

Having said that, if you don't have a lot of money, and you're filming in the UK with British actors, why not attempt something you might actually achieve, instead of totally over reaching yourself?

War at the full moon
TheLittleSongbird2 August 2018
Will admit to feeling nervous about seeing 'Werewolves of the Third Reich'. The low rating and poor reviews were not promising, and too many of my recent low-budget viewings with both of those here have proven to be that bad and worse. The idea also seemed really ridiculous, even for one clearly not meant to be taken seriously and with the potential to be executed in an intelligence insulting way.

My nervousness proved after watching 'Werewolves of the Third Reich' to be justified. 'Werewolves of the Third Reich' was yet another film to be that bad, as bad as the low rating and reviews suggested, and worse. It was not only ridiculous and terribly made but also intelligence insulting to a near-offensive degree, with a huge amount to criticise and nothing to recommend. Have nothing really to add, with it said already so well, other than my thoughts.

Knowing where to begin with the criticisms is difficult. 'Werewolves of the Third Reich' looks cheap, with drab and rushed-looking photography, haphazard editing, risible visual effects that just look strange, inauthentic and shoestring budget-like costumes and far from atmospheric or spooky settings. The sound quality is intrusive and obvious and can remember little about the music other than how ill-fitting it was.

Dialogue is cheesy as sin and delivered with accents that are both stereotypical and incomprehensible and words delivered in a way that will make native Germans and those studying German cringe and feel insulted. The story is uneventful in the first act and becomes increasingly silly and implausible, as well as tension-free and lacking in coherence. The action is clumsy and dull and the direction shows no engagement or experience with the material.

Characters are irritating and little more than cartoonish caricatures. Don't let the titular creatures elevate things, they are barely in it and are poorly designed. The acting is all round awful, with lots of histrionics and bizarre miscasting (Hitler is one of the biggest dishonourable mentions).

Overall, terrible. 1/10 Bethany Cox

I'm an hour into this thing and there still aren't any werewolves! Dudes and dudettes! Attention! Do not by any circumstance watch this movie! The big question is, why does the guy from Philly have a southern accent?

It Is not a Trash Movie, It Is Garbage
claudio_carvalho5 March 2019
The cover of "Werewolves of the Third Reich" is highly attractive and promising - and that is all. The film is not a "trash movie" (such as "Braindead", "The Toxic Avenger" or "Piranha") but a complete garbage. The story and the screenplay are laughable in the bad sense. The cast is ridiculous, highlighting the ham Lee Bane, an annoying "actor" with terrible accent. Nothing works in this movie, the special effects are worst that those from the Sci-fi Chanel and the mask of the werewolf is terrible. See the DVD cover and forget the flick. My vote is two.

This one doesn't even qualify as a "So bad it's gonna be good" film.
Ten-Inch-Toni10 June 2018
This. . . is. . . horrendous! It's obviously low budget. Very low. That in itself is certainly not a detractor. But Gawd Damn! When we "enter" Mengele's concentration camp their are exactly four young adults that are supposed to be the entire POW camp. Two men Two woman. Modern looking women with long stringy hair parted on the side. The "blond" had 5 inches of exposed dark roots. Apparently they couldn't even manage to dye her hair one way or the other. It's like they took what little they remember from high school history class and threw it in here and there and decided to mix in a bit of The Island of Dr. Moreau. This is not a compliment at all. I would recommend you save yourselves and choose something else; but you are gonna do what you're gonna do. 2 of 10 stars because I don't like to flunk people completely. Egad...

I managed to make it through about 15 minutes of Lee Bane, who plays "Mad Dog" Murphy, channeling his inner Hugh Jackman/Wolverine, and then. I had to turn this piece of garbage off.

Tarantino meets American Werewolf in London
carriegreer22 December 2017
Despite the obvious low budget this film is an admirable attempt to cross Inglorious Bastards with American Werewolf in London. The dialogue is witty and enjoyable - the dressing down a military general gives one of the Fearless Four a particular highlight - and it mixes a B movie sensibility with so many different genres like mad scientist movies, werewolf movies, war movies and Nazisploitation that there is rarely a dull moment. Recommended.

A fun movie
billybaldwin-1073622 December 2017
I read the other reviews and think people take movies too seriously sometimes. this is clearly a movie which isn't taking itself seriously (the Nazis think they can win world war 2 by making werewolf soldiers!) and there are so many funny lines and larger than life characters. so I find it very hard to dislike a film which is laughing at its own silly concept. along with the humour there are some good action scenes and the opening scene in the bar is like a spaghetti western. lots to like.

Why, God... Why?
KarmaLysing6 January 2021
The "werewolves" - when they finally appear - look more like the morphed Vampires from "Buffy". This masterpiece was filmed in Wales, and the mostly Welsh cast couldn't manage to get past their Welsh accents. As an added bonus, Jonni DC, Continuity Cop, clearly went out behind the shed and ended it all, ten minutes into the first day of filming.

If someone offers you the option of either watching this, or watching paint dry in the Everglades in August... Choose the paint.

Warning: Spoilers
Of all the dreams sold to me by films this has to be the best. I wasn't expecting much let's get that clear, but I just cannot get this experience out of my head. This film is just so damn bad. No plot, actors seems to blend all accents possible and have the most impressive facial expressions I've ever seen. Werewolf needs to be removed from the title, you see two awful masks that I can't even begin to describe, the front cover is an utter lie. With a title like this there could of been and should of been some funny scenes, actual humour, but this is just so bad it's cringey and awful. I can't even go through writing the storyline here as it's just too painful. I just needed to get this off my chest, I feel like I need therapy after this, do not watch his, not even intoxicated, there is no laughs whatsoever, it's funny at first with the exceptionally poor acting but it doesn't even try to be stupid/over the top. Save yourself.

Review
NerdBat14 January 2018
I'm not going to delve too much into the plot or anything, but I'm having trouble understanding what it is they were trying to do here. The CGI was horrific and just plain weird, and appeared to glitch out in some parts of the movie. The cover of course looked promising but, the masks that the "werewolves" wear don't look like wolves or even dogs at all. In fact, they looked more like a Klingon than a wolf. Not to mention, the masks are exactly that, masks! In some parts of the movie, they even appeared to fall off or become unsituated on the actors face. Also, does Hitler have Parkinson's disease or what? Every time he speaks, he is shivering uncontrollably and having issues speaking coherently. I don't understand why they did that? Was Hitler this way in real life? I have never seen them give him an effect like that in any film. Not to mention the fact that, regardless of the national origins of the actors, their accents sound so incredibly fake that it's almost painful to listen to.

The cover made me excited! Too bad this was such a disappointment.

How did this 'gem ' make it on to Netflix?
honeybloggs-696489 November 2021
This film was laughable ! It's like the director got a bunch of unemployed men and women and offered then a role in this film for £50 each ( no acting experience necessary ) . The director, producer, camera man , make up artist , voice coach, costumes etc were probably the same person but with different names on the credits . He probably came across his grandad's old camera from the attic and decided to make a film . And He probably shot the film in one of those reenactment sites , where people reenact certain eras and wars for a hobby,( So he didn't have to pay anything for a proper set ! )

, The Werewolves appeared towards the end of the film . Their Werewolf 'make up '.consisted of a mask that looked like it was from the pound shop . The Werewolves ( bless them ) did nothing except growl a little bit ! Lol!

Guess , it's possible to make a garbage film for approximately £1000 and have it shown on Netflix !

not the worst movie ever, but far from good too
pengwyn-449-97493931 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie's greatest flaw is it's bad editing.

Scenes take waaaaaay longer then necessary.

This in fact made me hope that it would lead to a surprising twist or awesome climax, but alas.

This looks like an Indy-project that was botched in the cutting room by somebody who was just learning how to edit. Maybe one day someone with actual editing skills can create a special cut from this movie that makes it better, Lord knows there's enough material to.play around with.

Pity the Werewolves played only a very small part and resembled more the vampires from Buffy the Vampire Slayer than wolves.

It didn't bore though, so if you have some time to kill, give it a chance.

Don't call me Mad Dog
nogodnomasters7 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This is a film that promises more than delivers. It opens up 1944, in Nazi Germany, and not that other Germany. We are introduced to some American tough guys...was that guy acting like Clint Eastwood? We are then introduced to Josef Mengele (Neville Cann) and his wife Ilsa (Suzie Frances Garton) who are experimenting on people and have a drug that combines DNA. Then the scenes come together.

The werewolf as seen on the cover is misleading. It looked like a rubber zombie mask. And yes there were "werewolves" since two is plural. The building they were in looked from the era, except the lead paint was peeling off the walls and ceiling as if it was standing there for 70 years. Then there were other rooms with wood paneling and wall switches that was clearly anachronistic.

On the plus side the film managed to create and deliver some fun characters and dialogue like, "make my day" and "do you feel lucky." There was western swagger music which created a fun but brief grindhouse effect. The werewolf didn't come into the film until late, and really didn't factor into the feature as much as expected. Considering the stinkers written by Andrew Jones ("The Amityville Asylum"), this production has moved in the right direction.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Right away to forgetfulness's basket!!!
elo-equipamentos6 August 2018
I was fully deceived by DVD's cover and what the title suggested, watching almost when l've been receiving the pack, my disappointment acctualy start in first half hour and how much is getting in the middle my angry is higher, stop wasn't an option acceptable in face of my expenses to get it, remaining spend my priceless time in a trash movie, the real low budge picture survives only by nazi werewolf premise which didn't appeared usually, just in few scenes, a bad make up is clear, looks like made by a beginner, well at least the main character likes to kill nazi!!!

Resume:

First watch: 2018 / How many: 1 / Source: DVD / Rating: 4

Waste of money
andershenningsen8 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It was hard just to give it ONE star.

So bad acting that it almost looks like a school comedy. The same two tones of music 80% of the movie. CGI was simply to laugh at. Adolf Hitler spoke American to dr. Mengele and all the German officers spoke worse English than a class of Swedish development students. Prisoners were lined up, but no one cried or look scared... I have seen woman who looked more scared of a spider. Adolf Hitlers office was poorer decorated than a low budget theater play.

I am speechless about how grown ups can make such a f.ck.. up movie.

Great Throwback to Nazispotation Films
JungleJeffyGoesToMars12 September 2020
I see people on IMDB comparing this movie to Inglourious Basterds, when it's merely inspired by the same grindhouse films that have inspired Tarantino. This movie is the first real entry in the Nazisplotation genre I've seen in years, and it has soe real B-Movie charm to makes up for its weaknesses.

I especially enjoyed the nods to the Ilsa film series.

C-Class movie. Dont expect much and not a hidden Gem.
richard13218 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is dull, plodding and visually looks like ww2 re-enactment.The acting is community theater quality, some descent but way too over the top. And no, the werewolf serum looks NOTHING like the Re-animator movies. The CGI are mostly bad, especially the bullet hits and what I think are practical makeup looks like it was purchased at a halloween store and applied by a novice. The scene with the drill instructor was ripped off from Full Metal Jacket. If you are a B-movie fan you might like it other wise go watch Silver Bullet from 1985 with Gary Busey and Corey Haim.

No schlocky horror... just boredom!
chris_green19811 December 2021
I feel like the 'creative' team behind this film watched Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards and went "Let's do that with werewolves!" However though Tarantino can be accused of cut and pasting from genres and films, I feel he does so with creativity, flare and a unique voice. The same cannot be said of this film. It neither has the great dialogue of Taratino or the humour. Nor does it have the action, suspense, horror or atmosphere of a good B Movie. It's poorly acted (probably directional tbh), bad effects, silly, badly edited, awful plot lines and narrative... all of which could be forgiven if it was just FUN! Hated this film, put done the Tarantino movies guys and think more creatively. Find your own voice!

Alternative tagline: "What If Inglorious Basterds Was Terrible?"
iansavagemusic22 November 2021
So bad it's kind of an insult to anyone who spends their time on it.

"Pound Shop Tom Hardy, meet Hugh Jackman ordered from Wish, we're gonna superglue your left eyes shut because that makes you badass and chuck in some utterly terrible generic 'hard man' nicknames ('Mad Dog', 'The Butcher' and 'Fighting Joe', really?)...SOUND GOOD?!?"

(and that's not even mentioning the utterly inappropriate Shutterstock footage of the actual Auschwitz prison camp shoehorned in for 'historical relevance').

Just...ugh :/
