On paper, APB is a fun concept. It *should* be Castle with Tony Stark's toys to play with. The big glaring problem with APB is that it stretches itself way, way too thin. The stuff within the precinct (case work, interactions between the on-the-beat cops) ranges between good and stellar -- it has all the fun and good writing of "Castle" at its best and should be the absolute center of the show. Unfortunately, the writers have stretched themselves paper thin with dull, weak subplots surrounding Reeves industries, friends of Reeves' top programmer Ada and political push-back from barely not-corrupt Chicago officials. If they can write their way out of this mess and focus on the stuff that works, this show could be a real standout. As it is, they might be canceled before they get the chance.
